Nice work, Ras.
Actually there's only two classes so far I would recommend for Insanity. Soldier and Infiltrator. Tried playing as a infiltrator on that setting once before and it was merely a nuisance for my sniper trigger happy Shepard, than a uphill battle.
However, if there's one class I would NOT recommend to play through insanity, it's adepts. The constant shields on mooks makes singularity almost a useless power, if you don't know what you're doing. While it's possible to beat it on insanity, it requires a lot of patience and wearing that god-damn dragon age armour to make it work... well according to the "guide to playing adepts on insanity" vid, that I saw on youtube once.

Nice.
I finished on Hardcore with a vanguard, which was not too crazy (aside from the same tough places you mentioned--as well as the end of Horizon, which I struggled like hell with (Damn you, Fluffy the Praetorian!)).
Good to see this now, as I was considering trying the game on Insanity and didn't know what class to use. If I get around to it, I will definitely not use the adept. Even on Insanity I had to have Garrus/Miranda with me always due to the warp/overload issue.

I did try playing as an adept on hardcore once... man, that was kinda awful. But strangely enough, I've managed to play it through till the end. I might try and play it again on insanity, this time with barrier as a extra move. I know that barrier is a complete lifesaver so far in my veteran test run.
Still don't try and play adept unless you're fishing for some insanity... great, that pun sounded stupid.

I'm reappropriating this as the site's "Boast about gaming achievements" thread. Does anyone mind?
So, I just managed to complete Mirror's Edge without shooting anyone. (I'm sure that game's growing on me.) It was a fun challenge, really.
I've always liked the idea of pacifist runs in games. Like I said, it's a fun challenge to go back and attempt, and it's just more ammunition against the "Games are violent and make you violent" rhetoric.

Makes me wanna play Deus Ex 1 again... on a pacifist run.
I agree that there's more to games than just shooting the shit and be violent.

I enjoyed Insanity. I beat it like, over a year ago. It was hard but it was my favorite playthrough.
Every collector encounter is intense. And you HAVE to try and keep your squad alive just for their powers. I got stuck so many places though. I think every mission had a spot that took me 4 or more trys.
Its best done with an imported ME2 save. You're going to want a finished Shepard to start the game with or you'll die a lot more.

To further cement this thread's new approach-
I just beat 'Super Adventure Island' (SNES) and 'Wonderboy in Monsterland' (Master System) - BOTH of which seemed completely impossible to me as a kid. I've been wanting to beat those things for most of my life.

I just got a medal for 100 melee kills in Battlefield 3. My knife has claimed many dog tags. xD
