Seriously, I can easily see how keeping the Collector base would put the survivors of the Reaper invasion on the same technological path that lead to the creation of the Reapers in the first place. That cycle needs to be broken forever.

I've blew it up because mainly I wanted to see Shepard saying this to TIM in the after report debriefing:
TIM: You're making a habit costing me more time and money
Shepard: I'm sorry, having trouble hearing you, a lot of bullshit on this line.
Anyways, I wouldn't trust him and his loony organisation with a reaper tech. They already making a habit of screwing things up and causing widespread havoc in the galaxy due to their failures. Even their experiment with Greyson went completely haywired in the Retribution novel. Besides, there's a recurring theme where following the same technological path isn't a good idea and the collector base isn't going to make it any better, so I've made a gamble and blew it up.
Although in my next playthrough I'll have a couple of my Shepards keeping the base, just to see what happens in the next game.
