Come on, if we didn't get crass once in a while then these boards would get pretty dull.

Hmph. Dull, are they!
Then I'll leave you be, and resume mending the sword that was broken.
If you know what I'm sayin'

If you want to scan planets endlessly for your upgrades, fair enough. I prefer to get mine through combat.
In Mass Effect 3, you should (somehow) get resources from defeating enemies (you should get XP per enemy killed too, not per mission completed.) and buy upgrades with them.

NO! No more mining! Hell, I thought I escaped that crap when I quit EVE!

Good grief Glow, I didn't say I liked the planet scanning. I said that the gear carried by a 2 bit merc is not going to hold a candle to Spec ops Gear that Shep has access to. 'sides even though the planet scanning was dull, getting the upgrades through hacking and terminal access and buying them from research firms made a morsel bit more sense than picking them up off the charred corpse of the inferior twerp you just gunned down.
Making money off the dead in Dragon Age makes sense. They have gold on them. In ME, not so much, everyone is going to have a digital wallet. Armour would be a lot more beat up in most cases too, 'sides Shep's team should already have the best.
If it was up to me there would be a way to make money like taking on merc jobs of your own while saving the Galaxy. Maybe some kind of meaningful tradeoff. You know like I have time to take on this job that pays x credits for R&D or cut a deal with y faction to fight the Reapers not both. For God's sake let's put the roleplay into this RPG instead of getting lost in an inventory system

I think BioWare had two options after ME1, and that was either to refine the RPG elements or get rid of them. Kinda surprised they opted to get rid of them, though it arguably put more focus on the story and character element.
They've been riding the genre border between Action/Adventure and RPG very loosely. I would love for them to refine the RPG elements, get a better inventory system going, make a bunch of unique armor pieces and weapons, and let you do your own thing. Allow you to actually get out there and earn your loot. Maybe even take away level scaling to an extent. What's the point of levels in a game where the enemy gets better along with you?

Are Monty Python getting back together and making a casting call Buch? You are really trying too hard here. Not to mention getting progressively less subtle.

Looks like meat's back on the menu, boys!
(I knew I could come up with one, AND it only took me a few weeks!)
