Happy holidays from Buch, the moderator.
Hodster, Cali, Rascarin, Tillian, Battlechantress, Clint, Knightfall, James, J K Linders, TerrorK, Madnesshero, Renegade Point, Nemonus, Lieden, Ommadawn and Mr Glow * - thank you for visiting this site in 2010, and making it what it is. If I missed anyone on that list - sorry I've had a few drinks.
I really like these forums, and not just because it's a top-notch collection of Mass Effect fanfic. Mostly it's because of the good conversation. There are times when this virtual place is the only place I want to be. Because I want to catch up on the bizarre astronomy news, read the parodies or argue about Fallout. So you all deserve my thanks for dropping by, and a very heartfelt:
Merry Christmas!
And now, the last advent calendar item, Hugh Laurie:

Merry Christmas and Yule-tide, everyone! And Happy Boxing Day to everyone in the next timezone over. Your charitable act for the year should be to explain to an American what Boxing Day is.
Raise your steins of mead for a toast: once for Odin - for power and victory - again for the honored dead in Valhalla, and once more to the Earth and the merriment that will soon spring from it.
You may now sacrifice your woodland creatures. xD

Merry Christmas everyone! I agree with Buch. Over time, this forum's became more than a Mass Effect fan site, it's became a place to enjoy some quality conversation!
I'm not exactly sure about Boxing Day, either. All I know is you have to eat a kilogram of turkey sandwiches to properly celebrate it.

Okay, Boxing Day. As I understand it... it's a Victorian thing. Either-
- The monarch used to deliver little boxes of cash or treats to the poor the day after Christmas. OR-
- The rich folks used to give boxes of fruit to their servants, a day late, when they could be bothered.

According to Wiki it's also celebrated in Australia and Canada?

Which used to be British Colonies... Figure it out. Of course they kept the present holidays.

In the Middle Ages, churches used to collect gifts in a box, for St Stephen's Day. I'd assume they then gave them to the poor, but you know the church...
