Chris Priestly gave me a warning on the official ME forums! This was the thread that did it; masseffect.bioware.com/forums/viewtopic.html?topic=673626&forum=104&sp=45 . Now I did antagonise the troll a little bit, but I'm pretty sure I didn't deserve an official warning for what I did. Here is the message Chris sent me: Troll bashing is to be expected, surely, and I don't think I went too far... Especially considering what a long-standing member I am, and I've never been in trouble before. I mean, I thought they liked me; they gave me a copy of MEPC. Thoughts? Did I go too far? Is Chris just getting carried away with his banhammer?

Personally I don't think you went to far. That guy is a @$$ and I love how trolls try to make other people look like trolls.
Also if you got a warning then the troll probally got a more serious warning then what was givin to you. And I think that the warning wasn't that bad and if they do like you they probally just don't want one of their long standing members antagonising trolls.
But it is weird because usally troll stuff like this goes on longer then this before the topic is locked down.
I wouldn't worry about it.

I've seen this Priestley guy trying to show off like this before. He seems like a bit of an over-dramatic type who likes to make big, bold gestures.
And I really don't think you were too aggressive or rude there at all. I've said much worse things to trolls and never been told off. You weren't all that argumentative - you just tried to get rid of him. That was just the admin over-reacting. Now I almost want to tell him off!
Honestly, I'd forget it. Just be careful at Bioware for a while, I guess!

Hodster is right, being a long term member, I think they more likely gave you a slap on the wrist while the real offender probably got a serious warning, maybe a threat to have his/her account suspended.
No you didn't go that far. Just the BioWare forums are quite more tighter in their housekeeping rules. Just be careful while treading on their doorstep.
Also apologies in advance for not stepping in while I was treading on the forums especially the thread that you had a fight with that asshole. I've could have done something to defend your stance or something.

I've seen respected members of other forums get banned before; not for any one thing, but because they've just been around so long they've gotten into one too many squabbles and reached the point of no return in the forum rules. In such cases, it's hardly deserved, but fairness demands no special treatment.
Your first reply on that page was so remarkably restrained I was amazed, really. I think it's more a case of Priestly warning everyone he saw in the thread rather indiscriminately. If I'd been there in your place, I'd be the one with the warning.
I've barely been checking the official forums lately, though. I broke 1k posts a while back and found I've talked myself out. Probably a good thing I wasn't there, or we might both have warnings. LOL!
As for the troll, that guy deserves an insta-ban imo. What the hell, he couldn't string together anything but insults. Total waste of everybody's time.

They don't allow any kind of fighting on Bio forums, even if you didn't start it. You actually got off pretty easy, I've been temp banned a couple of times, and I know people got perma banned for fighting.
