I'm thinking of writing short vignettes outlining the plot and setting of my, erh, wanna-be-a-novelette thing. Not part of the actual work (though nothing could stop me from cannibalising lines), but it could serve as a good warm-up.

I'm a little confused. Did you read my post wrong or are you insulting yourself? ^^'
Anyway, we should definitely do this. ^_^ I might resort to writing snippets from my proposed Nano (like you said, leiden).

Insulting myself... quite harshly, looking back! I just meant that I don't know if I'll be able to make such a short piece mean something.
My plan is to come up with random snippets and use little ideas I've had at the back of my mind - and then use the batch as a catalogue of ideas for when I'm writing proper stories.

I see. ^^' I'm sure you can do it...for at least some of the days. ^_^ Look to other people's work for inspiration. A drabble just has to have a beginning, middle, and end like anything else--they're just usually ideas instead of plot points.

The October batch for 100words.com begins next Friday, for those of you interested. It might not be a bad idea to start signing up for it now. Please note: You don't have to begin writing on the site until you create a profile (in fact, it won't let you until you do that).

BTW Chantress, thanks for finding these.
I got myself an account at 100 words ages ago. Next Friday, cool.
Sadly none of the entries are readable until the end of the month. So I won't be able to follow all your progress and steal ideas. But I do look forward to reading them.

LOL I highly doubt my ideas would be worth stealing, unless you mean the other folks who are in on this.

We could make a thread where we could all share our entries, though.

It's a good idea.
I've just realised our last entry will be on October 31st. That's a good sign.

I love Halloween. I might have a wee horror theme through my entries.

Signed up just now. It's a good idea to have a thread for sharing our work here; I know I'll need the motivation of other people talking about it. *nervous*

I've just signed up, too, and I'm also nervous! I wonder if I'll be able to manage the 100 words every single day. I think I'll have to be abroad for a week in the beginning of October. Not to mention I end up with some 16+hour days... -_- But: I have a new smartphone! I can write 100 words on that, for sure. And pay a little extra for the overseas internet access. So! No excuses.
