Agreed. I think the Twilight movies would be much better with Axe Cop. And watchable for me.
While we're at it, I want to re-write "The Host" with a Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman twist of sorts. You know, like Good Omens, but in space.

Nah, no rules on the canon as far as I'm concerned. Just put it in screenwriting format as best you can ( Script Frenzy's site has several resources on that, and most of them are free), only for the sake of the challenge.

Chantress it gives me hope for mankind to see you calling out Nicholas Sparks. I work in a video shop - I don't believe I've ever heard a bad work spoken about Sparks. There are movies like Twilight or Battleship or Transformers which are controversial in that maybe 10% of people I talk to dislike them. But 'The Notebook' and all the subsequent dodgy remakes -- people seem to think they're mana from heaven for some reason.
So what would we be doing - re-writing the bad movies in a straight manor, to improve them? I'll have to think. I don't know about taking on such a thing unless it were Prometheus. And even then I'm hesitant since that's even well-received on line as well as with people....
You have some ideas?

God help me avoiding this kind of thing. I once almost wrote an entire script for a re-written Star Wars Episode One in which Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan were replaced by Obi-Wan and Anakin, the Tattooine section was removed entirely, Jar Jar was replaced by a cocky young Naboo pilot who died at the end, and the story began at the start of the Clone Wars (in part 2 the Clones would appear and they would be cloned Jedi and Orc-like enemy aliens, not stormtroopers), with a (non-Jedi) Count Dooku as the main baddy, Maul (who survived) as the muscle and Palpatine only hinted at until part 3, where it would hopefully be a genuine surprise that he and not the shadowy Dooku was the Sith Lord. Most of the thing was set either in space battles or in a much more medieval-styled Naboo, where they would fight Maul in a real stone castle halfway in, rather than the desert. Anakin also was actually a (Jedi) pilot, as opposed to a podracer, and demonstrated the Force in fight scenes rather than with fancy lightsaber ballet. But other than these changes it followed exactly the same plot - rescuing the young Queen of Naboo from Dooku's invasion, fleeing to Coruscant for exposition and then returning to win back the planet while the Jedi tried to keep their rebellious duo out of the War. The Queen was going to use her disguises much more prominently, too - using them to escape and to return to Naboo. The climax would have been the same fight with Maul, but on a moon of Naboo around the ruins of Dooku's capital starship which they had brought down and crashed with the Force (I copied that completely from 'The Force Unleashed'), rather than in that silly giant power station with the precarious bridges. And Maul and Obi-Wan would have lived of course, and gone on to have a proper rivalry in the next two films.
The only problem I have with this is that no-one apart from the Jar Jar guy dies... Maybe this movie would be more optimistic like 'A New Hope' and the second film would follow the plot of 'Revenge of the Sith' and Anakin would 'die' (maybe even not reveal him as Darth Vader but genuinely suggest that Vader had killed him?) I never got that far. But I did want the third movie to be about Obi-Wan and Padme fleeing the newly-formed Empire and Vader and Maul, the two feared assassins who would 'hunt down' the Jedi for refusing the Empire's rule.
The only thing that stopped me with this was a desperate hope that I might still have something of 'a life' if I just closed the laptop and went for a walk or something. I think it paid off but sometimes I wonder.

Pretty much what i had in mind for Episode I really, except I would've made the Mandolorians part of the bad guys and actually do Qui-gon Jin as as mentor to both Anakin and Obi-Wan who then defects in Episode II.

That's interesting.
I also would have made Anakin and the rest of the Jedi English. Vader has that strange sort of not-quite-English not quite-American accent so it really bothers me that Hatden Christenssen and Jake Lloyd both played the role with such an ordinary, comfortable American accent.

Agreed...and I would;ve made Mace Windu a renegade Jedi who is a bad ass. Shouting Bantha poodoo's at the top of his voice and say he had it with this monkefling droids on this monday to friday shuttle.

Why would Anakin be English, when Luke's also from Tatooine and is American?

That's a good point (though my Anakin wouldn't necessarily be from Tatooine - obviously his brother Owen would have to live there but a Jedi would probably not). The real reason Anakin ought to be English is because Vader was. In his Vader voice he is sort of quasi English and when he takes the mask off he's fully Oxbridge. "Tell your sister, you were raighhht, don't yew know." Anakin is English.

I've had a skin-boiling fever and you-don't-want-to-know-the-rest lately, so about the only thing I can remember coming up with is a 5 page minimum requirement. It would make more sense to go after movies that already exist, although having seen the trailers for "Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters" I feel compelled to shred that and redo it already since it looks like another "Van Helsing"-- and possibly even worse. I figure February 1st would be a good kick-off date. Beyond that, I... don't remember or know.
Edit: "The Host" would also be fair game, IMO, because the book already exists, unfortunately.

Might do Episode I then....problem is i got Fellowship to do and Exams to prepare for so it might take some time. Also me and Buch might have to fight over it with "Duel of the Fates" running in the background.
