Has anyone actually read the novel? I haven't but I've did a lot of research into it since I'll won't be having the time to read those novels nowdays. Before i'll start talking about it, I just want to make the usual warning right here. If you're still intending to read the book and don't want to spoil it, get out of this thread NOW!
Anyways, moving on. I've noticed a lot of things there.
First of, Grayson did die at the end while still under the reaper threat, but David Anderson shot him blank point in the chest with his shotgun. The book explains the inner details about being under the influance of indoctination. Basically not only that control just your body, but also the manipulate the chemical reaction to force the desire emotion response if you're trying to fight back. Say that you want to grab that gun to kill yourself but not only they stop your body movement from grabbing the gun but they shove those happy chemicals in your brain to wipe that sad emotion off from your mind. So yeah, you can't even cry freely while being under the influance.
Aria used to have a daughter whose name is Lieselle but she was killed by Kei Lang, a Cerberus assasin who really racist and a cold assassin at best, while trying to capture Greyson alive at the time. Also Kei Lang used to be a N7 Marine before he was dishonorably discharged from the Alliance for killing a krogan back on the citadel. Mind you, he's a skillful wetwork assassin, who even outskilled Anderson at one point. And he manages to get away in the end of the novel, so I've suspect he's going to play a big role in ME3, probably going after Shepard to assassinate or incarcerate him/her alive on the illusive man's orders. So this would be interesting, since Shepard and Lang were former N7 operatives.
Speaking of Anderson, he gave up his position working within the Citadel Government section in the course of the novel, either it would be being a desk jockey to Udina or being a councilour. He quits, so Udina is going to be the councilour in ME3. I have to say this gotta suck, especially for my paragon Shepard who has a personal beef with him. He'd better not revoke her Spectre status in the next game.
The turians were a big focus in the novel, in a similar vein to the quarians back in ascension, so they'll be playing a big role in ME3 from the looks of it.
What else could I say about the the novel and the ME3 mass theory connection? Not really sure what happens for the those who decided to preserved the base but I hope in ME3, your alignment with the factions at the beginning all depended on the ending of ME2. If you keep the base, you've become one of the key members of the Cerberus organisation, while becoming the enemy for the Alliance, but if you do blew up the base, it's the other way around. Either way, if Liara is going to become a information broker junkie that rivals the Shadow Broker in between ME2 and ME3, I've hope she can help Shepard in covering his/her tracks, while laying low for a while till the next game.
That's all I've got to say. Any thoughts or corrections, feel free to talk about it.
