Pressly was a chronomancer. Just before he died he went back in time and killed the guy who invented self-cooling weapons and hid a bunch of power cell crates in extremely convenient locations around the galaxy. And now he live in your heavy weapons. Remember his sacrifice the next time you nuke the giant California governor. Ahahahahahahaha. That was way better than mine, in fact that should be the canon explanation. It makes far more sense. There's a canon explanation? And I kind of just elaborated on your idea >.>

Some crap about how the Geth were better in a fight because they were able to put 'more rounds downstream'. they were able to do that because they used removable heat sinks, ie heat clips. There was even a mention about how a trained soldier could swap 'em out fast. no way i would swap out a weapon with in essence unlimited ammo if all I had to do to keep it from overheating was stop firing fro a couple of seconds

Eighty-eight miles an hour!!
Reconning codex is retconning. XD jklinders' bit about stopping firing makes sense...unless of course you're faced with a charging krogan and really, really need to shoot.
But then you're sortof running on luck either way.

Well my HSMX or whatever with the frictionless materials upgrade seemed to hurt the Geth more then they hurt me, even on insane. Never underestimate a machine that can literally spray a steady stream of hot metal forever.

Or how about an extra heavy pistol for when you are really buggered. "Bet you wish YOU had carnifax at your side" You would still save on weight not having those extra heat sinks weighing you down.

Also, the Geth used those pulse weapons. How is that tech even compatible with weapons that fire bullets, even tiny grain-of-sand sized ones?
