Looks like it was a blast after all. And it didn't rain! (it does that a lot over there, I hear )

The way Tillian tells it, you get a bit of rain over there too!
I knew she was lying.

Actually, where I live has been in severe drought for the past decade. This winter seems to have broken that at last, with more rainfall than I've seen since I moved here back in 2002. Woohoo!

It's Manchester Pride starting tonight. I'm not going. I'm reading a book and playing Wii.

Oklahoma City *finally* gave the green light for one this year... and next year too. Considering how firmly entrenched it is in the "Bible Belt ways", it's amazing that they let it happen at all. (This is the same state that was the first to ban same sex marriages before they even had a chance to be legal, after watching California and Massachusetts allow them. Sad.)

About an hours drive from where I live is a back of beyond little spot called Truro. About 4 years back the mayor there refused to let the pride flag be flown at the "city hall" building during Pride week. The town council very quickly distanced themselves when he started quoting his religion and the Bible on it. 2 years later he made some rather hateful remarks about gays regarding some "activities" he was concerned about at a public park. I have not heard him shove both feet in his mouth lately so maybe he lost his re-election bid.
Halifax is fairly progressive about stuff but the rest of Nova Scotia is backward in society you might think you were still in the 19th century.
