Just a curiosity, really. Anybody in the UK planning on going to Brighton Pride this year?

Too far for me. It takes a lot to even get me to Manchester Pride. Whilst I love the actual pride aspect, and the drinking, (and floats are always great) I'm very not 'scene'.

Ah, fair, it is quite a way for you. I'm *very* scene these days, and cos I'm on my Uni's LGBT committee, I'm definitely going. Gonna be in the parade and everything.

Very cool, Scarin.
What are you doing in the parade?

Just for interest's sake, what is Brighton's Pride?

Gay Pride - a big festival like a Mardi Gras sort of thing. Brighton is apparently like San Fransico over here so there is a huge Pride there.

I think our theme is Victorian Morality, because the general theme is "Pride and (no) Prejudice". So we're dressing up in Period costume depicting immoral characters from the era. Also, it'll all be in drag.

Ha, sounds like a blast (and a lot like our Mardi Gras). Hope you have fun.

San Francisco was probably the only place in the US that acknowledge LBGT awareness month. They had them rainbow flags posted up on the street lamps all across Market Street. Pretty neat.

Here's some pictures from the Parade - this one is the Student group I was marching with (as well as QYN and Allsorts, followed by National Student Pride (and a bunch of really annoying socialists). And this is me (oddly isolated from the group), holding my sign that says "Yay for Gay". People loved it, go SO many photos taken of me.

Well they have a pride parade every year here in Halifax(Canada not UK) but they don't have the all out blast I am seeing here. Good on you all.
Looks like you had a good time.

Very cool banner And hair. As much as I like the Socialist lot, I can't help but thing Pride has nothing to bloody do with them. Get your own day, Socialists.
