Now I'm just asking for a flame war here... but I thought this cartoon was awesome. And I do think it makes a damn good point. These kinds of double-standards really annoy me, though I understand from whence they came.

I've felt the same way for some time. For example, it is considered perfectly acceptable to portray men as idiots in advertising and other forms of media, but if it at all turned around it is sexist. No one gender has a monopoly on being idiots thank you very much. PS I like to refer to sports cars as mid life crisis mobiles, so I am guilty of a morsel bit of prejudice myself. PPS I also am perfectly comfortable with my penis as well. ;D

On a semi-related and even edgier subject, I'm also pretty tired of racism only applying to caucasians here in the United States. In my school if you were a black student, you could get away with saying something racist. If you were a white student, however... yeah... yeah...
Political correctness may exist for good reasons, but there's no denying its a stick up the ass of American society.

Not just American society, sadly (though you guys are premier examples of how far PC has gone - and not in a good way)

It's hard for me to be angry at anyone fighting 'the man'. And as a white, almost-heterosexual, middle-class (I guess) Western man, I am pretty much The Man Incarnate.
I'm honestly far less upset by someone having a go at my groups than a minority, and maybe that's just as bad.
But I'm for equality, specifically. Or - if it's possible for a white man who doesn't campaign to be for it, then I am.

I am not in favor of "going after the man" at all. Hateful spiteful prejudice spouted for not other reason than being hateful and spiteful is wrong, full stop. This includes religion, politics, race, hair color...whatever.
I am perfectly fine with joking around, and I feel it should be equitable. We don't need political correctness, we need the idiotic hate to stop but still be able to make fun of ourselves without someone raising cain over it.

Speaking of political correctness racism comments... here's a song that sums it up.
