Because nothing spells doom quite like wolves wielding bear traps.

Grrr. I registered DA on the bioware site, and while I was there I thought, "Why not, I'll redeem Shale and the Dragon Armour codes too!". Which I did. So, they're there now on the site as owned additions for my login, but they aren't downloadable additions like the ME2 ones, and they don't show up in the DLC section of DA when I run it either. What have I done!?!

Try opening the game and see if they don't start dl'ing then.

Yeah, your DLC for DA:O downloads a bit differently than for ME. Like clint said, it *should* DL in- game once you log in.

I haven't seen him here since so I am guessing yes.

Dragon Age: Origins, in the classic true-Bioware style, will suck you in and not let you go for weeks ;D

I got it working. Turns out the Dragon Age Updater service doesn't run automatically on my system (it seems a known fault, I found it being discussed a few times in various forums). I had to uninstall the service manually, reinstall it then make sure it's running before I run DA:O, then it's all good. I can live with that. By the way, I love this game. Started with a male human mage, and having a blast (literally ). Morrigan doesn't like me much though.

I grew to like disappointing Morrigan, honestly. One of her best lines when you agree to help yet another NPC sod is, "Oh and then we can go rescuing helpless kittens from trees!" (That may not be a perfect quote; it's been months since I have touched the game. Either way, it's the way that she says it which makes it work.)

I like Morrigan, but I think BioWare sometimes tried a bit too hard to make her ruthless or self preserving, and she can come across as really stupidly evil. Like she says every sidequest is just a waste of time. Clearly, she has never played an RPG in her life.
But yeah, the Dragon Age: Origins party are a good bunch. I could sympathise with all of them, even the people who had done pretty bad things before, unlike Mass Effect 2, where even though there were scenes that tried to get me to sympathise with the squadmates, I pretty much still view a lot of them as assholes.

Yeah. I pissed off her and Sten my first playthrough. I managed to win her back, but only because of the generous allowances in gifts the plotline hands you for her. Sten I barely got a word out of the rest of the game. Strangely enough on my second playthrough (female elf) he was downright friendly. I was astonished! (The idiot is still the worst tank known to man though. Glass Jaw if I ever saw one)

When and if I ever use him, He has to be wearing Juggernaut or Blood Dragon armor. Which makes him useless for the first half of the game.

I didn't bring Sten along very often until we got outside of the mage's tower and we had to bribe the boatman to get across. Sure, he wasn't the best tank unless you loaded him up on heavy armor, but it was worth bringing him along to hear about the cookies. Still, the best dialogue probably comes from Shale when dealing with Witherfang and the elven keeper. "Please tell me we can squish him!" (Or was it just "kill"? It's been forever. Sounds more appropriate that she'd say "squish" though.)
