I guess BioWare'll keep milking this Shifty Looking Cow until it steals all of our credits. I'm through with buying BioWare's crummy DLC (think I've spent more than £30 on Dragon Age alone). I'll probably watch this sometime on YouTube though.

Coincidentally, the shifty-looking cow (well, some cows of the same species) do make an appearance in this!
MORE SPOILERS:
---------------- I have to say - I really liked the creepy horror-style atmosphere and the music. And there were some cool set-pieces and moments. The geth ship was really nice too - and the elevator in-jokes Tillian mentioned made me laugh out loud.
But that story just did nothing for me. And I didn't enjoy the talking-hovercraft-with-broken-GPS segments one bit. ----------------
I'd like to say all Bioware DLC is awful, but this was fine, like 'DA: Awakening'. Fine. I probably won't play either of them a second time though.
I really like Kasumi and Zaeed, and Shale, and their quests. Also 'Return to Ostagar' was all right. (Though I think those things were probably just cut from the game and released seperately, not develped afterwards...)
Stop it Bioware. Go and write something.

Ok, I finished Overlord. I have to say that unlike the Kasumi DLC, it was actually fairly close to worth the money. Biggest problem I have not surprisingly is the fact I have to use the Hammerhead. Amplifying this was something I took as something of an inside joke from Bioware. Most of the hacking minigames in the PC version were a kind of frogger type game. More than a few reviewers as well as myself took the piss out of them over that. So what do they do? they make me play frogger with the damn Hammerhead on the lava level. Argh!!!
Atmosphere was well done, level design was actually quite unique. I can honestly say this added to the game without feeling like it was pulled out or tacked on.
Spoilerish comment follows
How in the seven curses of Beelzebub did Archer stay standing after being pistol whipped? That's a concussion from a normal person much less Shepard/

The frogger bit was my favourite bit!!
I was yelling at the screen- 'It's over, Anakin! I have the high ground!!' 'You underestimate my powerrrrrr...' 'Don't try it.' Then leaping up onto the bank. xD

I played it on my second playthrough (along with Kasumi) and it was okay. I didn't like the Hammerhead parts much at all, to be honest. I haven't played the original HH missions either, and found the assumption that I would have the damned thing in the cargo hold immersion breaking, big time.
Apart from that, I did like the atmosphere and the moral choices.

I was irritated with Overlord for the fact that it had ZERO squad interaction. I mean, if you bring Legion to this place, it stands to reason that he is gonna have to say SOMETHING about it. BW promised us more squad dialogue, and there was zero here. I hope that changes with the Liara DLC, but I won't hold my breath. That, and I hate the Hammerhead. Damn thing drives worse than the Mako. I'm surprised Garrus didn't yell at me something like:
"Four billion creds to bring you back and Cerberus STILL couldn't teach you how to drive?!"
So, no, I guess you aren't the only one who didn't like it.

Voice actors cost money. Heaven forbid they compromise their bottom line by hiring any more voice actors than are strictly necessary. They gotta either lower these prices or raise their standards. the gravy train will eventually stop if they don't

The thing is, BW KNEW they had a bunch of DLC in the works. Why not get all the VAs together in LA (where most are based anyway) and have them do their lines all in one go?

Hence my significant apprehensions towards the quality of Bioware's writing and planning that may have shown in other posts I have written here. Kasumi was planned. And they got around the problem by it being a 2 person squad for that one. Zaeed was a perk for buyers of new copies and was always part of the game so that is why there is dialogue there. I am thinking that Overlord was in the "maybe" pile. Pending the success of other DLC.
A framework may have been in place but only absolutely essential dialogue was done. Or maybe Mark Meer and Jennifer Hale are just on retainer in their contracts so Bioware whistles and they show up to work. Doing that for all the cast would have been very expensive and recording dialogue for a "maybe" project was likely not in the timetable. Overall I think DLC is very poor value for money. It's like going to a item store in game and paying real money for the gear.
Call me a sucker I guess.

Hmm, I hadn't considered that they just put it aside and didn't seriously consider releasing it at one point. Still, with all their talking up squad banter in future DLCs, etc. in recent interviews, this really does seem a bit of a letdown. Overlord definitely didn't make my Eartborn/ Sole Survivor Shepards like Cerberus any, that's for sure (even my Ruthless one said "Hell no" to letting the project go on).

Well ruthless does not mean certifiably insane I can't imagine what could possibly go wrong when you plug a mentally challenged person with a communication disorder into a massive collective where he can't get away from the others. I mean what is the harm in that? They are now doing DLC that will bridge the gap between ME2 and ME3. Whatever that means. Sounds like another cash cow for su- er I mean more content for me to eventually cave in and buy. They will need the gang back to do voice work for ME3 so maybe this other DLC will be part of the deal.

I was rather disappointed with overlord. Archer was a great character and made the beginning interesting, but with no squadmate interaction besides a nasty look at Legion, I didn't like it.
Though now that you mention the lava scene, I might work some thing on for Mock effect 2.
JOHN: Who are those two guys out in that lava pool? And what are they waving around?

A little Mustafar humour would definitely go down well!

I just finished Overlord today and the lack of character chit-chat did get on my nerves along with fighting nothing but geth. Atmospheres and settings were beyond great and the storyline was captivating. But the different types of gameplay involved was it's best factor, from the enjoyable platforming to using strategies to try and destroy the geth cannon. The last part was awesome too
