It's Hank Azaria, as Gargamel! From the Smurfs! That's inspired!!

It's inspired all right. he could pull it off. The real question is, nostalgia aside, can anyone of any age withstand 90 minutes of the Smurfs in any format? Maybe I'm biased, even as a kid I could not stand the sight or sound of most of what Nicholodian was involved in.

[/img] I hate Nickelodeon! -- I don't know what this 'Nickelodeon' is, but I know I love the Smurfs, and with that kind of casting, the movie will be awesome.
When I googled the movie I found that nikelodean was doing it. They have been making crappy kids programming for pretty close to as long as I have been watching TV. Their writers just get under my skin because they dumb down to kids too damn much. I'll check the reviews first.

You seem to be forgetting Nickelodeon's gems like Ren and Stimpy, Rocko's Modern Life, and the Angry Beavers.

You seem to be forgetting Nickelodeon's gems like Ren and Stimpy, Rocko's Modern Life, and the Angry Beavers. Call me a humorless bore if you want, but I had not forgotten those "gems" . Grossout humor never did it for me. That seems to be all they got.

The combined first season of Ren and Stimpy was some of the best four hours of television ever. The later seasons focused too much on grossout humor though I admit. Season 1 was composed entirely of dark humor and well directed narrative, which made it great.
As for the Angry Beavers, it had some of the greatest voice acting ever and some fantastic movie references that make Family Guy look childish (no wait a minute, it already is).
Rocko's Modern Life focused more on surrealist humor and had interesting characters. That said, it is probably the weakest of the three.

I never saw angry beavers or rocko's modern life I'll admit. They sound good.
Even South park makes Family guy seem mature, they have actually degenerated to the point where their best attempt at humor is to poke fun at (with absolutely no respect or love in it) at far more talented people than themselves ( the Niel Diamond video clips are a perfect example of this "hey I don't feel like drawing this week" "OK lets just show an old clip of an impossibly successful singer for five minutes for no reason and save you some work" " Brilliant!!"). all possible respect to Seth Green of course. I'm no Niel Diamond fan, but that's just lazy.
I guess when it comes to that particular publisher, I just don't feel like digging through the pile of turds they produce in the hope of running across a diamond.

I never saw Angry Beavers (...) but I was a big fan of Rocko's Modern Life. I absolutely loved it. And Doug was good, too. Was Rugrats theirs? To my mind, these were all fantastic shows. I liked the self-aware, acerbic style that they had: it made me feel very mature and clever Ren and Stimpy, there are some episodes I absolutely love (You want my ice-cream bar!!) and others that just don't do it for me. It's very hit and miss, I think. But again, it's very different. At te time I'd tune in every week just because I was so curious and didn't understand what the hell the BBC were showing. I wouldn't necessarily laugh but I'd always be glued to the screen! And I loved the Smurfs. I guess it was a pretty stupid show, but I liked it. It was on in the mornings, just before I left for school. I had to miss the last five minutes of every episode or I'd be late. --- I have to agree that Family Guy is reeeeally going downhill these days. I think after series 3 or four, it lost it. Now it seems desperate, keeps trying to hard to 'shock', and it's very, very smug.

Rocko's Modern Life is one of the best cartoons to ever exist. And is second only too Ren and Stimpy (the Spumco episodes)
Angry Beavers was pretty good too. Dagget cracked me up with his unabrow and crazy ass noises he'd make. "Spooty" thats what he'd say. Yeah I was a kid but it made me laugh.
Cartoon Network dwarfed Nickelodeon though. Cow & Chicken, I am Weasel, Dexter's Lab, even the Powerpuff Girls (FU i liked Powerpuff Girls)
I can't even remember all the Cartoon Network shows I liked.

I love Powerpuff Girls. It was funny, and cleverer than a lot of people thought. Did you guys see that one episode that was just a massive series of Beatles references? Here's a clip of that - and it's not even all the references - about the first tw thirds. After that, the girls 'break-up the Beat-Alls' by introducing Mojo Jojo to a small, Japanese, female monkey. www.youtube.com/watch?v=mMb8WAJo8ggIn a similar kind of way I really like 'Fairly Odd Parents'! - Also I wanted to share this- - I saw 'The Cleveland Show' the other day. Dreadful.

..and Jennifer Hale voiced the teacher in powerpuff girls, another reason it was good.
I liked Arthur, mostly due to it's truely awesome theme tune. Johnny Bravo is still one of my favourite characters to this day, as well.

lol Freakazoid, that show was epic. Steven Spielberg should have just stuck with cartoons. Animaniacs were awesome.
