There are rumors that Mike Atkinson has resigned from his position in Australian politics. Any truth to this?

He announced he would be stepping down, yes, but it won't happen for a few years.

Only half of the rumours are true.
According to Kotaku, he's stepping down from his position as a Attorney General for the South Australia state. However, he still maintain his seat in the Parliament until 2014. So the bottomline is that the strict stance in the Australian censorship will hang around for a while from the looks of it.

Still sounds like good news... was he visited by three spirits? The game developers of Christmas past, present and yet to come? Hmmm What should we name them? I say black isle Studios, Bioware, and the namelss conglomerate for the future.

Activision, perhaps. No one exemplifies the death of the game industry more than them. Likely Bobby Kotick wearing a cloak made of hundred dollar bills.
