Yeah, my news is always from Kotaku. They're reporting today that in the new Bioware MMO, The Old Republic (like you didn't know!), one of the various worlds you can visit will be TARIS! Considering this story takes place a few hundred years after the planet was wiped from the face of the galaxy, it's kinda interesting to see what's changed of late. There will be people trying to rebuild, and the ruins of the once-kinda-proud city sinking into the swamplands. And, oh yes, there will be rakghouls. Even though Revan supposedly found the cure...bah. kotaku.com/5470530/star-wars-the-old-republic-will-always-have-taris

Heeey, Taris!
Looks like it wasn't wiped from the face of the galaxeeeee after all. But then again, Malak would have had a hard time removing a planet with only a few drednoughts! I don't think he thought that order through. Malak just enjoyed spouting random 'Star Wars villain' lines. God love him.
As for the Rakghoul cure, don't forget that shortly after Revan got that cure and one of his contacts began mass-production, that exact area of Taris was heavily bombed. So it's not hard to believe the Rakghoul disease is still around.

Yeah, I guess there wouldn't have been enough time to administer the cure. I suppose I'm just disappointed. Getting that cure wasn't easy! Well, it kinda was.
See, what would really sell me on the MMO is if you go to Taris, you get to visit the Promised Land. I think little things like that would really add up to a great experience. Revisiting the Dantooine enclave, going back to Manaan, the Sith tombs on Korriban...maybe not so much Kashyyyk. But you know. If they found a way to evoke the feeling of traveling through KotOR 1, that would be amazing.

;D
That would be so amazing. I'd particularly love to go to the promised land! (and see the monkey butlers and coconut Nintendo system.)
Let's hope the game has lots of that! If they're including Taris it's a good sign.
