EA announced today that it's looking to release the next Dragon Age game before March 31 of 2011. I'm excited about this, because I thought I'd be waiting a long time for the next one. I heard about the first Dragon Age almost three years ago, when it was still supposed to be an MMO. Glad it's not going to take that long. xD kotaku.com/5467016/ea-plans-dead-space-2-next-dragon-age-for-2011

Coolness! Looking forward to seeing the DA universe expanding! Set in Orlay, do you reckon? Follow the Elder Scrolls model?

That would be interesting! Ferelden hasn't been on good terms with Orlay since they were occupied by them, so it would be like a bunch of French people adventuring through post-WWII Germany. Definitely good opportunity for a story there to be sure.
I really want to see how they handle the character transfer. Very excited for that.

That was fast. What with this and Mass Effect 3 apparently being released for late 2011, I only hope Bioware aren't rushing their games in order to make EA some money.

Well, hope they keep the quality high in ME3... Anyways.... I think the reason these games are coming out sooner is BioWare have now got their game engines running now, so now its just a case of writting the new scripts, designing the new locations, and so forth. Rather than doing all that and having to get the technical side done, and having to make all the primary gameplay style choices. That and I think they were working on Me 3 and Dragon age 2 before DA and ME2 had even shipped ;D And to be honest, given at least ME was already going to be a trilogy, I imagine they have already planned out half of it. Not sure if Dragon Age was always intended to have sequels.

@ Knighty - My assumption is that you'll start Dragon Age 2 with a new character, seeing as it was possible to die in DA:O.
That's what I'm thinking anyway. Bioware have proven me wrong many, many times!
