I'm not keen on RTS'ses. I say stick to role-playing.... MMO is definitely something I could get behind. But Mass Effect it should be about role-playing and story. Says I.

I have to agree on Zars and Hodster on this one when it comes to MMO
In theory, Mass Effect seem to be a fun MMO with all the lore, race, the so-called-magic system, etc, etc. So does Warcraft too.
Your mirage may vary but personally I like Mass Effect as a RPG single player game than an MMO. There are reasons why I rather not see a Mass Effect MMO:
1. Gameplay system. In Mass Effect 1 and 2, the class system is fun especially with biotics. However if they are going to incorperate the gameplay mechcanics into a MMO environment, they'll be forced to do a big overhull with the mechcanics due to the game balancing. That means a few classes will be nerf (eg: adepts) to the point is might not be as fun as a standard RPG. Also it takes a big effort to re-write the mechcanics again.
2. Lore breaking. Warcraft was rich in lore but Blizzard just have to fuck up the in-game universe just for the sake of catering their customers. Perfect example would that blood elf prince from WoW: The Burning Crusade. In Warcraft 3, he very protective (a little extreme perhaps) with his own race, due to their plight. In WoW, he get's the character derailment treatment. A Mass Effect MMO have a high chance of doing an ass pull retcon in the ME lore when it comes to push to shove in making the customers happy. I'm pretty sure a lot of ME fans will be pissed when someone made a retcon that the Reapers came back from the dead and it's up to 25 space marines to stop that reaper bullshit. Speaking of that...
3. Storytelling, Roleplaying and immersion. Mass effect is a game that relies on "emotional engagement". That means a deeper immersion with the characters, the in-game universe and storytelling. I've played WoW and other few MMOs before in my lifetime and I don't have an emotional connection to the world and the characters. Even with my (former) lvl 80 NE hunter. I don't seem to care about the story that much. Sure WotLK gets better in the engagement but then there's the immersion and the RP factor. Not matter how hard I've tried to RP, there's always some asshat player that ruins your immersion by stepping into your little imagination rudely and starts yelling how much a noob you are. I don't think a Mass Effect MMO with have a emotional engaging impact as the "Shepard Trilogy" series.
4. Social. Call me an anti-social, especially the fact I have a harsh philosophy that I've tend to think everyone in the world shit. I'm shit, you're shit, everyone else is shit. However, I have a good reason why I don't like to play with other players online that often. From my time in WoW, playing a game with other people is like getting involved into a wall pissing contest. Usually you spend more time getting gear and trying to be better than the other player, rather than winding down and relax with the immersion of the game. Again, the social interacteration can jarred your RP make believe moment. Personally, if I want to do a wall pissing contest, I'll play Heroes of Neweth, Team fortress 2, Halo 3 or... WoW. Mass Effect is a game that is like an oasis to relax and wind down within a sea of poisoning testerone "hardcore" gamers.
I could rant about this all day but those are the things that are vaguely connected to my reasoning why I don't want to see a Mass Effect MMO anytime soon. A little bias yes, but until BioWare proves me wrong that MMO can be engaging as a single player RPG, I'm keeping my judgement close.
-------
But back to the topic, I don't mind if they delay ME3 to 2012, but if they can push to 2011 without compromising the quality, then it's fine by me. Concidering from what I have heard that ME3 will still use the same engine as ME2 and they are not too concern with the continuity in technological terms, I suppose I can see their point. I just hope they know what they are doing...

And Fan ficiton? Varied! Mass Effect Fan Ficiton: Thane sex Thane sex Kaiden sex Garrus sex Legion sex? Garrus sex Tali sex Tali and Legion sex? Shepard crying whilst Thane tries to have sex with her. *throws up hands in frustration* I can only write non-sex centric stories. I can't force you guys to read them.
