I'm a big Mass Effect fan and happened to stumble across this site the other day, but didn't have time to register until now. I enjoy writing fanfiction, although I seem to have this habit of never finishing them when I start... really need to get over that. Anyways, just thought I'd say hello. Now back to work on my most recent fic that I will hopefully finish. P.S. I noticed on the forum rules that it says no cursing is allowed, however I also noticed some of the FanFics on this site are rated M. Does this mean cursing is allowed in FanFics so long as you give them an appropriate rating and just not use them in other posts?

Hello and Welcome to the forums. Nice to have another one on board. As for the rules about cursing. Most of the time it's alright in here as long it didn't point out to personal insults in the forums in normal posting and as for fanfics, you can add cursing into it as long you gave out an appropriate rating.

Welcome!
I am Rascarin, your Lord and Master!
As for the cursing, that was the original rule, which we have all since broken. We understand that, sometimes, things can only be expressed in swear words. All we ask is that it be necessary. Or amusing. Or both.

(Swearing is okay when it refers to giant robots.)
Hi Raidos and welcome! I know what you mean about not finishing fanfics. I have done that a few times. If you lose enthusiasm and have new ideas, it's hard to carry on.

Thank you all for the welcome! And for the explanation on the cursing.
@buch: That's exactly what happens to me, except it happens with every fic I start (except for one, but it was a oneshot so I don't count it. Kind of hard to lose interest in a story that takes a day or two to write). One of the main problems I tend to have is I keep coming up with new ideas and changing my mind on what to do with the story, and eventually I just give up because I can never settle on what to do with it.

Yep, me too Raidos (I keep wanting to call you 'Radios' ) I have that problem if I stop writing for a few days. Then I have to start writing a completely new plan. I try to write quickly without stopping because of this. Saying it here makes it sound pretty stupid.

You're not the only person who reads it as Radios. Haha.
Oh, and if anyone is wondering, Raidos doesn't really mean anything (at least as far as I am aware). I made it up by combining the word Rai (lightning) and... something else. I forgot what the other word was. Haha
If Raidos does happen to mean something and someone knows, please tell me! I'd be very interested in knowing.

I think the other word was 'radios'.

Yes, welcome to the forums, everyone!
If I might be so bold to make the assumption that things might be a little slow around here for a little while, since many of us are still making our way through ME 2 and are attempting to be light with the details to avoid giving anything away.
With that being said: Everyone who hasn't finished the game needs to hurry the frak up! >=D

Just finished. I lost one of my men but I have no idea why! Credits fun: Did you know the lady who played Jack was also Juhani, back in the day? I always used to make fun of it, but I rather miss 'Faunts' now.

I finished my first one last tuesday. My xbox promptly died. I'm avoiding any spoilers discussion until I've got at least one more playthrough under my belt... which, considering I have no xbox, could be some time.
I lost a member, too. No idea how I could've saved them, though.

I've already been through it once. Going to let a friend borrow it then I'm going to play through it again after that. I lost 4 crew members, but I know exactly what I did wrong so I will be able to save them next time. Also, Rascarin, what is your avatar from? It looks very familiar...

Hi-ho. I figured I'd say hi Completed Mass Effect 2, and am now trying to feed my addiction to Mass Effect fiction with fanfic, heh.

Also, Rascarin, what is your avatar from? It looks very familiar... It's something I made years back when I was in secondary school. I use it as my avatar in a couple of places...EDIT: I'm a damn liar - I forgot I'd changed my avatar recently. That is actually Miguel, from the film "The Road to El Dorado".
