I'm only up to Chapter 5 of Mass Effect: Digression, but i'm really loving it. It's very obvious that you put a lot of thought and planning into your fanfics.
The story is intriguing, and you give it a certain immersiveness. I'm not a very imaginative guy, but when I was reading this, I swear I could practically see Palo hanging out at the docks waiting for that salarian to show.
You have a definite knack for writing dialog, and the characters that you've created are well balanced and interesting.
I also admire how much you stick to what you said before the first chapter, while not featuring any canon characters, theres just an undeniable Mass Effect vibe to the entire story.
Great work, Terrork!

I just read chapter one and this fic is very well done. I could envision the scene and the characters and feel the emotion that was emparted by them. The dialog also brought a sense of life to the scene. The great book cover didn't hurt either.

I made an account purely so I could comment on this. It's the only story i've read on this forum, and there may be a few bits i'm not convinced with, and a few spelling errors, but other than that, this is a great story, extrememly compelling, I do hope you're going to finish it, as i'm personally hooked.

I have read everything posted for this story to date. It was a difficult but good read. I was not expecting Yalo's final solution to be as extreme as it was. I should have given his moral conflict but I still was not expecting it. I had to give myself a break from the story after finding out. It's a measure of how well constructed a character you made that I found myself disliking him as much as I did. I still admire his boldness and his willingness to stand by his decision. Looking forward to the rest.

Hi all
Just a quick message here from the author for those who are interested:- Mass Effect: Digression is technically done. Yes, the final 20th Chapter and Epilogue have basically been completed. However, to make 100% sure they're all ready, I'm going to be letting them stew for about a week without touching them. It just so happens I'm going away for a week to spend time with family anyway, but when I get back I'll go over them again, edit, tweak and clean them up, and then release them.
Thanks for reading, I hope the ending will be worth it.

Just finished reading it. Let me just say, daaaaaammmmnnnn that was good. I was pretty surprised at the ending. It was very well executed as well.
The only thought I have against the overall story is I really don't see anyone outside of Batarian space wanting to get their hands as dirty as that with Yalo. The plan just had bad PR written all over it, the council would have been more concerned Than Yalo thought over the outcome and potential allies in Council space would have seen that, even those he eventually dealt with. Though the set up was sufficiently fool proof that someone could get suckered in it just reeked of risk. Still very well done.
Some of the better original characters I have seen. Very fleshed out and real. All of them had their own Hubris, I was especially fond of Intarr.
That's all I got. Just giving my 2 pesos worth.
