Lol... that list is awesome.

Just remembered, there's another flim I've seen last year that I was skeptical at the time. Valkyrie. I was a bit concerned it would be another over the top Hollywood film but instead, I've shed a tear at the end of the film. Not the best film but I've enjoyed it... much to my supprise.

Some years back I was out with a friend form high school I hadn't seen in forever. We were just wandering aimlessly chatting until we came upon the cinema and thought why not lets go see a movie. The only thing that wa son though was Hot chick. I remember looking at it and thinking... we're gonna hate it aren't we... I was really surprised though when we got into the theatre. It was a really good movie. I laughed... a lot! The crowd laughed... a lot! It was a really ncie experience for a British Cinema. lol

That is a nice experience. The only time I was in a cinema audience that laughed out loud was 'Snakes on a Plane'. It was a lovely atmosphere.
I was pleasantly surprised by 'Valkyrie' too. I thought it was great, despite Tom Cruise.

Only other time I've been in the cinema with audience participation was when i went to see a movie thats name escapes me. It was called something like Lumi ra kool. It was a Bollywood movie. However the participation was not good. It began with groans that stirred into heated discussions until people actually started throwing confectionery at the screen. Then it broke out into a free for all food fight and the entire audience was escorted off the premises. lol

Lol... that reminds me the infamous opening of "The Rite of Spring", where the audience were outrage by the music and dance they started to have a fight in the theatre. The cops were called in to quieten the situation.

I'm pulling a necromancer spell here but recently I've went to see the Prince of Persia movie with my friends. I've expected to whine and bitch about it afterwards, considering the notoriety how games movie adaptation usually is.
To my surprise, it not that bad. It's watchable and I wouldn't mind renting it when it comes out on DVD. The story is a little cliche but it's still good fun to watch and the stunts are believable at best. No CGI cover up crap, just running on the walls goodness. Although if you're going to watch it, just remember the MST3K mantra first. A few Prince of Persia fans were not to impressed with some of the lore changes in the movie, which is understandable since the ME movie is heading to this route too.
For a Video Game movie, good start in trying to change the face of the adaptation. Hopefully the ME movie continues to follow this path.

How to Train Your Dragon. I expected it to be too cutesy for me, but went because a couple friends were--and I was amazed. Some scenes I will actually (hesitantly) call beautiful. It wasn't perfect, but it was very good, and oh man the end. The end. Good stuff.

It's an oldy, but I was very pleasantly surprised bu Shrek! I thought it was going to be another boring kiddy movie like Toy Story, but no - it was one of the most entertaining animated films I've ever seen. I can still watch it again and get a kick out of it (more so than its sequels).

New Moon. I thought it was going to be boring and lifeless, just like it's main characters, but once it started the film student in me latched on to just how pretty the shots were. Then Taylor Lautner took his shirt off and I was able to ignore the plot and focus on the important this on the screen, like Jacobs abs.

Oh yeah... the abs...
*cough*
Sorry, I'm not interested in that. Sucks to be slightly immune to such things otherwise I'll probably enjoy New Moon a lot more without try to remind my brain that it's a nice crack fic take on the vampire lore...

lol! The abs do nothing for me! I think my natural dislike of the franchise counters any of that. My brother and I just saw a very old (well 80's I think) cartoon movie called 'Starchaser: The Legend of Orin' which he bought on VHS because 'It's clearly a massive Star Wars rip-off!' So we sat down expecting to MST3K the whole thing and eat popcorn. And it was pretty good! It absolutely WAS a Star Wars rip-off, to the letter, but it was pretty awesome! And wierdly, for a PG-rated children's cartoon, it had loads of swearing.

I'm not a Jim Carey or a Zooey Deschanel fan, so I fully expected to hate "Yes Man". It's not a perfect movie, but it wasn't quite the unintentional horror show that I expected. I actually managed to like "Inglorious Basterds" too, and I generally avoid Tarantino films like... well, the plague. The only high point of Jacob's romance: www.youtube.com/watch?v=fZzvvf1Sp7gAnd Bioware wonders why women say, "OMG, I'm gonna go date an alien!" when it comes to ME2.
