So, recently, I was forced to watch "17 Again", to my disgust. All I previously knew of Zac Efron was that he was in High School Musical, and that he is another soulless Disney teenybopper clone. As such, I was less than enthusiastic about seeing the film.
However, I was surprised to discover that actually, it's not that bad. Possibly because its not Disney (at least, I don't think it is), but mostly because parts of it were genuinely funny. Of course, it still had to have one of those sickening feel-good sappy happy endings, but still. I'm not usually one to admit I'm wrong, but this time, I'll swallow my enourmous pride and say that yes, it was actually quite good.
Zac Efron is STILL a baby-faced little girl pretending to be a man, though.

Ha ha. Baby faced little girl... lol
I'm gonna give this movie a shot now under your praise of it but if I hate it I'll blame you Rascarin. lol
I felt the same way about Lost in translation and Vanilla sky. I thought they'd be shockingly bad but actually enjoyed them.

I find it impossible to accept that Matthew Perry looked like Zac Efron when he was 17.
I sometimes get that with action movies. And Fight Club is definitely an example for me. I was expecting it to be some idiotic macho movie about street-fighting. When I was finally forced to watch I was very pleasantly surprised.

On the other hand Twelve monkeys I thought would be an awesome movie but was really disappointed.

Another one for me would be Step Up and Step Up 2: The Streets. Suprisingly likeable, those two.
What IS Fight Club about? I've heard it recommended a lot, but never actually looked into it.

But it's more than that! The actual fight club is a tiny element of the story. It's a character study of Ed Norton as a quirky insomniac with a lot of twists and a very dark sense of humour. The ending IS magnificent though.

I just remembered, I've watched "The Frighteners" once. I thought it was alright despite being Peter Jackson's hey day in B-Grade movies before his fame in LotR

The third rule of fight club: You do not eat before fight club. The mess it causes when someone gets a hook to the stomach is to much for poor Stanely the Janitor to bare. Think of Stanely before you eat that extra cheese burger.
