Lacuna coil made it onto tongiths shuffle mix and I had to stop the player to make it loop the albums so I could sing along.
Ha ha this song is awesome. Seriously look at his little face. He's loving it! He's like a 5 year old with a bag of haribo. He really means all that roar angry cuteness he's spouting. I'm just sitting here think "awwwwwww" and cooing.
I was not expecting what I heard here. I was thinking ... " anaother screaming metal band" and I got folk insteasd! With a flying ship!
This makes me dance.
Interesting video I may borrow some of its elements for my installation piece this eyar.
HA HA HA HA!

Metalocalypse is one of my favorite shows. The cartoon itself is morbidly hilarious, and then the albums this "fake band" put out are amazing in their own right.
Here's one of the songs I've been listening to off their new album:

Thats actually good metal. It wasn't falling into the teen musical wanking problem you get typically with modern death metal. The musican's obviously know what they are doing and are using their instruments to the fullest rather than strumming two notes very quickly before busting out an annoying sounding air guitar moment that doesn't fit. I have often had discussions about putting teen guitarists out of everybodies misery with LSD and an abba album. You have no idea how much guitar wank solo's make me feel. Its like hearing your parents having sex on a blackboard whilst a fat sweat hairy man watches them and claws the board with his man claws mixing with the sounds of groaning and a elephant urinated on them all. I get a similar reaction to most instrumental live Jazz and Jeremy Kyle.
edit
Jeremy kyle normally has a large choir added to that scenerio singing about the rise of the devil because lets face it Jeremy Kyle is the devil incarnate. Either that or he's a very very very very very very very etc bad man and the devil is taking pointers.

lol! Yeah, a lot of metal these days isn't as technical or amazing. It's still alive, but just barely breathing under the weight of all these nu-metal bands taking up the front stage, like Slipknot and Disturbed (not bad bands, but I can't honestly say they're worthy of the extremely large fanbase they have).
Here's a very talented band that just recently got signed and play at little venues around America. Gonna go see them at the local Pizza Factory this month! I can see them opening for Metallica someday. =D

That was some sexy bass opening. I'm sure I've mentioned my bass loving fondness before.
You know what really annoys me about metal now? "Love us because we have a half dressed female vocalist... oh and she'll wear a white dress sometimes" bands. Most of them I have ehard have either been emo or mundane in every way. Chick does not = good music. Chick must be good singer to start with. I know sex sales but come on, lame singing does not! I would rather listen to a guy ROARING down a microphone so I ddnerstand nothing he is saying. At least he has emotions!

This is a band that I discovered down in Brighton at some open mic thing I went to. They're a local band, and whilst I don't like ALL of their stuff, they have some really good songs. They're on youtube, but its all live so the quality is bad, so check out their myspace. In particular, listen to Golden Box and Lying; www.myspace.com/thebeautifulword

A kind of folk, hip-hop thing that I really came to like:

Oh, man, I love Ensiferum. I love any band that makes music that gets me pumped to slay a dragon, or something like that.
Here's my favorite song from them:
And another really great folk metal band, Amon Amarth. They make me wish I was a viking. ><
The lyrics are very impressive as well.

That's a very nice selection! I had never heard of In Extremo before. They're right up my alley. I've only been able to hear a few German bands: Rammstein, Blind Guardian, Oomph!
I might have posted some of these before, but I wanted to keep with the theme of Celtic metal and Metallica covers. xD
