So, last session our heroes got into a huge brawl between Protestant and Catholic students at a university (this kind of thing happened a fair bit during the 30 Years War. Look it up.), when trying to visit a scholar who worked there for information on an artifact they acquired.
One of the characters fired not one, but two shots into the air with a wheel lock pistol to try and scare them off, and was unsuccessful on both counts. Two other player characters beat a bunch of them up, magically summoned fake whistle and approaching guard boot noises, and they still weren't fazed.
Lastly, Tillian's character used telekenisis to launch two night pots at the crowd, dousing them with piss. They all ran away after that.
In 17th century Germany, when fighting and threats don't work against an angry mob, piss does the job!

I can't wait for the next session, because I want to see everyone's reaction when I turn myself into an angry bear in the middle of a random battle encounter.

I can't wait for the next session, because I want to see everyone's reaction when I turn myself into an angry bear in the middle of a random battle encounter. Aaand this happened. There were three shitty assassins who tried to kill the swede, and Bernadette turned into a bear, mauled one, knocked one out and scared another out. Also we got into a fight with some vicious Mage inside a spice traders warehouse. The battle ensued as flows: -there were ice balls thrown. -there were fire balls thrown - Dude started levitating and laughing like a cross between Baron Vladimir Harkonnen and an anime villain. - The Swede cast a time spell which backfired and caused him to walk extremely fast and talk like a chipmunk. - the horse familiar was called in to wreck more shit - One player asked what "the spiciest thing around" was and proceeded to throw it in the mage's face. The powerful Mage then incapacitated by spice in his eyes after years of training and several spells he knew. Nothing prepared him for this, apparently. He also got shot in the head. - The horse peed on his corpse. - and a golem was set loose - oh fuck fuck I don't even know how to describe - the insanity - -ofb

So basically there was a murder mystery in the last session regarding a captain of the local guard being killed by a group of conspirators (two politicians, a slave broker, and the captain's lieutenant). After the player characters staged a break-in of the politicians villas and getting his tax information and other financial ledgers (which were absolutely filthy with corruption, not excluding blackmail and bribery), and other sleuthing around, our heroes discerned that there was a collusion between all of them.
The politicians were borrowing money from the slave broker to bribe minor noblemen in the legislative council, and paid the police lieutenant to tip off the police captain's whereabouts in the Brazilian jungle, where he was ambushed and shot, his body dumped in the ocean and washing up on the beach. Turns out the police captain was aiding and helping escaped slaves, and was about to expose the politicians (who both owned plantations) before he was discovered and killed.
The paperwork and ledgers were handed to a private investigator they knew in town, and the paperwork was turned in. After discovering that his incriminating paperwork was stolen, one of the politicians shot the police lieutenant and killed him in a panic to keep him quiet, and prepared to leave town by boat with the other two conspirators. They were intercepted by the local guard on orders from the governor. There was a shootout with their personal guards, but they eventually surrendered and came out with their hands up. As of the previous session, they are awaiting trial.
I improvised the entire thing, and had no idea how it would turn out. And you know what? It worked. Very proud of that.

I would like to let everyone know that the horse familiar had a total kill count of 2 in the last session, while battling against privateers at sea. Best part is that the horse was pulling two nat 20's in a row. He was so terrifying that the other surviving privateers focus their fire on him.
Unfortunately, despite the awesome horse power of stomping baddies into a pulp, he's a glass cannon. So he ended up being overwhelmed by the privateers in that fight. Fortunately he's back once the party landed in Brazil.

Been planning to start up again with an RP in another forum soon once I got my own shit sorted. The RP is about making a jailbreak and have revenge on the people who framed you in the first place. So far, there's some implication that they were unlucky enough to be caught up a conspiracy within the Knightly Order, where the said Order is responsible for your arrest. So far:
- Getting Lined in the Usual Suspect style. - Some idiot started a prison riot because the two prisoners were arguing over card games. - The riot was good distraction for one of my characters who was planning to do a jail break. - The group had a run in with a former smuggling group, lead by an cranky Aussie mage. - Bee Bombs were involved at some point during the riot. - A batshit insane Japanese Technomancer and his werewolf apprentice were the ones who are involved with the jail break. - Hacking was involved. Shadowrun Matrix style, with a heavy dose of Inception dream fuckery. - Assassins came by and causing more shit. - Then more hacking that led to explosions and dead assassins. - The Villian is pissed off. - Somehow a Technomancy guild was throwing their lot with the party members, due to the said guild master was pissed with the Knightly Order for covering up the circumstances of his wife's death. - The party was trapped in Sinanoa, Mexico at the moment. The home of the Sinanoa Cartel.
One of my characters is a an MD, a blood mage and former member of a shadowy guild that has ties to the hellish planes, before he quit and joined the said technomancer guild. He's shady, grumpy and sadonic as you can get for a that kind of character. He also has a talking familar wolf, who is a massive klutz, but friendly, very loyal and easy to please.

My characters in this RP Tillian mentioned consist of:
- A Bosnian Industrial-Sorcerer, who plays flight simulators and is incredibly weird in a variety of ways that are too numerous to list. - An old Italian thief/mage (think Nightblade in Elder Scrolls terminology) who's quite friendly but sorta easy to irritate. - A Californian mercenary-mage who was imprisoned for a long time. He's also a celebrity and a proclaimed hero due to a series of events that occurred in the early 70's. - An English thief/mage who's every third word is something that couldn't be aired on cable TV. He's very, very pissed off, but has a sensitive side.

The said Bosnian mage just screamed some dirty gamer talk, right in the middle of a heated after report discussion.

Me and Cali joined into a campaign that was run by a friend. We're two sessions in and we're going to start our third one this week. So here's the rundown of the first session, cause I'm tired and describing the second session might require me to have some spare time to write.
The Campaign was known as "Pretty Things" and the story is about investigating the Arcane Slasher serial killings that occurred in every corner of the states. Like every good crime stories, it's not that simple. So here's the rub:
- All the victims were involved into some really shady business. Which involves human trafficking, arcane human experiments to create supper soldiers, which includes using children as test subjects. - One of these victims was a prominent member of the Silver Banner, the pious knightly order. Yep. He did some really bad things. - The said member had a folder in his PC that said CHILDREN in bold capital letters. Cue the groans and the WTFs from everyone. - The murderer probably knew them well prior to the killings, hence the reason why they were taken out easily according to postmortem. - The victims were killed in a grumsome manner, due to a certain ritual that requires them to do nasty things where it would not be out of place in a horror flick. - The said ritual involves blood magic of the worse kind. - Everyone is at each other throats, to the point they tend to meddle other party members goals. - The irony is one of the members who is from a demonic guild, the Order of Ouroboros, was the most helpful and co-operative out of all.
And that's the first session. The second session get's deeper. And kookiness is added as well when I've joined in as a German manic scientist in the second session.
Also, despite that the campaign showcase blood magic in a bad light, there are some blood magi who are decent people and this kind of magic can be used for good purposes. Unlike Dragon Age, they don't get hunted on the spot in the setting. Although, mistrust with these folks are rampant, for a good reason. They are more likely lured into vampirism, but you have to be really that nasty and lack of resolve to become one, as it involves a deal with the devil. Also unlike Dragon Age, a blood mage better have self control in this setting. So if they turn vampire, it's really their own fault.

Been playing a 40k tabletop rpg with Cali lately. Unsurprisingly, it's gnarly.
