Fuck Game Theory, fuck all the fan analysis! Glow's explanation is all you need!

Pretty sure the relays need to be linked too, otherwise the frictionless space that they theorize would not be possible. And if it was there would be very little to stop them from overshooting their target. Remember, the conduit was also 2 linked relays. If we are going with an Ark ship concept as I had heard speculated somewhere, then perhaps we are looking at a low above lightspeed ship that takes a couple of hundred years to get out there. Highly implausible but more or less what we are looking at right now to get out of this rather small pond we are in. Err scratch that, as that time frame requires running at least 1000x C to get there. So experimental wormhole gate maybe? The problem with wormholes is if both sides aren't stable, then it'll either collapse or you'll end up in completely random region of space with effectively no chance at return. And at 1000c, you'd still need 250,000 years to get from the edge of the Milky Way to the edge of Andromeda. Given the establishment of having to get rid of the energy buildup before the crew is microwaved by the radiation on a regular basis in canon, that's not happening unless you could push to 1,000,000c and be able to sustain it for 2.5 years. In Star Trek TOS terms (using the original Warp Factor scale of the ship's velocity being the cube of the warp factor), we're talking Warp Factor 100. The power requirements would be unfathomable. This whole Mass Effect Sequel is going to be a massive pain in the ass as you also have to account for what happened in the Reaper War (meaning picking a canon ending for 3 or a hugely complex way of accounting for all the choices).

I actually thought that it was going to be an ark ship sent out before the war started, rendering picking a canon meaningless. But if they must pick a canon, make it so. I know lots of people will get angry over that but it's Bioware's/EA's IP not ours.
Also your math doesn't parse Iron, 1000C would deal with moving 2.5 million light years in about 2500 years not 250,000. To be fair, I fucked up too.
But I have a great idea. let's pick apart the science they used to explain this after they invent it and tell us.

Coming off nights and I don't double check my math. And I agree. The first trilogy actually had good scientific grounding for most of its tech which is a reason why I liked the series. I'll refrain from judgement until the game comes out as far as their tech goes. And as far as I know, it's incredibly rare for sci-fi to go intergalactic for good reason: how the fuck do we get there? Even Star Trek and Star Wars stayed interstellar and not intergalactic (save for a one-off episode in TOS and the Yuzzhan Vong in Star Wars).

Ratchet and Clank was intergalactic, but any sci-fi setting that has Sheepinators and Groovitrons is clearly more advanced than ME or Star Wars.

I would draft up a rebuttal, Glow, but as usual, I'm just going to assume you're taking the piss as is standard for you.

So apparently we might learn a lot about ME:A at EA's E3 thing tomorrow night?

Wasn't going massively by the look. The little tiny bit of dialogue sounded a bit like Ash. Kind of a relief actually. The royal shitstorm that would erupt if she was in the game considering how cranky people got over canon at the end of ME 3.

The royal shitstorm that would erupt if she was in the game considering how cranky people got over canon at the end of ME 3. I know this is hypocritical for me, considering my asinine reaction at the time when ME3 came out, but these people should put their controllers down and go outside. Seriously, ME3 is an old ass game, it's 2016 and people are still treating it as serious business? Those people should let it go, it's just blue skin space babes and Robotic squids. And some people thought the GoT fandom is a fucking nutbag.

Only a couple of folks here and there but Christ they are still at it.

If you choose Winona as your PCs first name, it should open up dialogue options where nearly everyone asks Ryder if she's a descendant of the other Winona Ryder.
