I have just started my Website and Forum for a Mass Effect project I am working on. But I cant seem to get any traffic. Im just wandering for the creators of this forum how did you get so many people to sign up for you forum? How did you get people to find this forum? My website is here and my forum is here.

The original creator of the forum doesn't stop by very often these days. But I was around at the start, so I can remember --- she didn't really do anything special to draw people in, Lusia, just put up a few fanfics and talked about it a little on the official Bioware forum.
A small group showed up and this waned until there were just three or so people for a long while, but we got on really well. The success and traffic that came after that was sheer patience -- many years of people coming and becoming regulars.

It's mostly people checking in daily to see if the Brain Demons forced me to right another chapter of Kolyat Blood on the Citadel. You know. I think there was this parody Buch did once, too. I didn't really like it. It's script-based format offended me.

I'd say that Mock Effect one and it's enthusiastic quoting on the original bioware message boards helped a fair bit. That's what clued me in.

Mock Effect had a lot to do with it. I clearly remember when that other much better known fanfic website pulled Mock Effect down for...reasons. Something to do with it being script format or some rot. Rascarin, the original and still true Admin for this forum put this site together to allow Mock Effect and others to have a place to be shown outside that other site. I lurked here for a really long time before I introduced myself as a refugee from the Bioware Social network just after ME 2 came out and got a fairly warm welcome. Now they're stuck with me. The regulars here that still write are pretty damn good at it and I really think that if folks need a good sounding board this is a pretty friendly place to start. As for drumming up site traffic...? I just took a dart over there. Forum seems to have been well laid out, proboards does make that easy. I would suggest toning the white down a little bit. It glares pretty sharply from the darker background. thing is, you're not gonna get a lot of traffic if you are not going to let people in on what you are up to at least a little bit. Peter Molyneux can get away with that with his box thing but folks like us don't have that kind of draw. Without some kind of content to get some google search hits off of or something there is not going to be much happening. the website is cleanly designed but has very little real content. Now you don't have to let the cat out of the bag about Project Lusia, but you should probably get some other content working that is related to gain some interest. that might help a bit with your traffic problem. I'm not the creative type around here but people go to websites for content so some kind of bone needs to be thrown. A run through spell check on your recruitment page might do wonders as I caught a couple of typos. Both the forum and the site seem to have the same difficulty. Our own traffic kinda took care of itself as Mock Effect was something of a cult hit among BSN members so I'm afraid I have little else to offer.

I found this site when fanfiction.net was giving me hassles with registration. Much to Buch's chagrin, I liked the site and the people well enough that I stuck around.

We're all glad you stuck around, Iron! On topic here, as for me, I joined this forum after reading (and being highly impressed by the awesomeness of) Mr. Buch's "Mock Effect". Linders introduced me to the Mock Effect fanfic after we started dating, and I joined the forum specifically so I could leave a review for Mock Effect. Then I stuck around, partly because of Linders at first, but the atmosphere around here grew on me after a while. And of course, Linders got me hooked on the Mass Effect games when he bought the first two for me, and I've been a big fan ever since...

I got pulled in when a guy on the ME wikia suggested writing a fanfic of a main character and post it on this website. My first fanfic sucked a bit, hope I made up for it with ME: Noir, but I stuck around with these guys because...I like them? I think?
