Latest update on the wedding - we still don't have an exact date yet, but we have a rough idea, and... we have a venue! My parents have awesomely offered the use of their house and backyard for an outdoor wedding, ceremony and reception both, and it's a fantastic idea, since their (rather large-ish) backyard looks like a small version of a public garden with trees and beautiful flower beds and a white wooden archway, and with a basement door that opens from a furnished rec room onto a brick patio right on the bottom opening onto the large backyard garden area... I love my parents - this will save us a lot of money, since we don't have to rent a hall now or hire caterers, since another part of my mother's offer was that some of the family members (a couple of my aunts have also made this offer) would each contribute their cooking skills to provide parts of a buffet-style cold plate picnic set-up... I am officially getting excited, as now I think it's more likely that we can be married within the next year! Happy Kitty, right here...

Thanks, Gorvar! We're pretty stoked, too... When we were over at my parents' house today, Mum showed me a few wedding dresses she found online that she thought I'd look good in, I actually did like one of them - but it's not exactly the style I was hoping for... so the dress is still a mystery, as I can't seem to find The One Dress to Rule Me All... but as a joke, I showed her a picture online of a dress that I like (but would not wear at my own wedding) and said I wanted it, and her reaction was to wrinkle her nose and say "Oh, I don't think I like that one..." I'm so bad... The dress I showed her as a joke was Daenerys Targaryen's wedding dress from Game of Thrones: My mother did not approve... Good thing I was mostly kidding... though if re-done in white material, with silver or light blue trim, maybe it'd make a nice wedding dress in the real world...

Sorry for the multiple posts, but... We now have a date! That's right, the wedding is now on a schedule! We've decided on August 15th, 2015 for the Big Day... so, 379 days from now, I will be Mrs. JKLinders! And I wonder if we should get our rings to look like this? Nah - they're cute, but... slightly awkward for everyday wear... Damn, I'm getting so excited!

Oh, Gorvar - you have no idea how hype I'm getting... I'm so excited... I asked one of my cousins if he'd provide musical accompaniment throughout the ceremony, since he plays the guitar beautifully, and he agreed, so there's that done... and it's going to be awesome... I'm just thrilled that we've found a way to do this without having to save for a decade to get the funds, since the fact that the ceremony and reception will both be at my parents' house in their beautiful garden, which saves us a few thousand dollars... the cost of renting a hall and hiring caterers can get infernally pricey.

Hmmm... I wonder if I should get my passport and make arrangements to come visit the two of you in person.
Congratulations on the date.

Thanks, Buch... Oh, Iron, if you happened to be in Halifax at the time of the wedding, you'd so be invited... I'm rather excited about having a set date now - it means that we can start Planning as opposed to Dreaming... and it means that I only have one more year to wait before I can be a Linders! Also, I realized this morning that setting the date for August 15, 2015, makes it two years to the day since we got engaged! I swear, I did not plan that on purpose - it just happened.

Hypothetically... IF I were able to make it, I'd be sure to learn "Forsaken" on guitar along with "Ministry of Lost Souls" and "Pull Me Under" and bring my rig with me. IF I were able to make it.

Ahh Clint, your taste in music is nearly as appalling as ours is awesome. Petrucci is a very tough act to emulate but I'd be thrilled if Iron could pull it off.

Actually, I'm at the point where I can almost keep up with Jake E. Lee (Bark at the Moon) thanks to the speed and precision drills I've been working the past couple months. I'm pretty sure I can give a competent showing of Pull Me Under once I learn the song. Same with Forsaken. Ministry of Lost Souls is going to be the tricky one. I'm not nearly as familiar with it. Thankfully, it doesn't require a 7-sting so I can play it on guitars I already have.
