Apparently, the first part of one story I am working on, I write like L Frank Baum... and in the second part of the same story, and the entirety of a different story, I write like Dan Brown... Weird... certainly not trying to write like them... I call shenanigans! Shenanigans!

I've done one of these in the past but I can't remember who it said.
This one says I write like...... Chuck Palahnik! But that might just be because the bit I posted was in 2nd person and so was Fight Club.
A normal 3rd person entry say I write like..... Dan Brown. Oh dear.

Yeah, I got Dan Brown and then promptly retired from Creative Writing last time I tried this.

Ok. I'll do a caveat to my post above.
William Gibson's style is prevalent in Chapter 13 of Halo of Flies. Doing the whole story got me David Foster Wallace with heavy influences from Douglas Adams, William Gibson, Asimov, and Lovecraft (don't ask me where it got the Lovecraft from...)

Apparently the combined efforts of me and my group resemble that of HP Lovecraft. I don't know whether or not to take the fact that our combination is equal to that of a single man as a compliment or insult.

I came out with Author C Clark on my second chapter. Honestly I could do far worse I think.
My First chapter was Jonothan Swift.

I'm surprised my style is similar to the godfather of cyberpunk (William Gibson). Just need more noir elements. Of course the 5 chapters where I detail Ian's fist fights got the Chuck Palahniuk label... -_-

This site isn't very reliable, as it only examines what words you put into, and no prose. You could be writing a Skyrim fanfic and there'd be a very high chance it'd say you wrote like J.R.R. Tolkien or J.K. Rowling, even if you were trying your damndest to write like Robert E. Howard.

I was shocked when it said William Gibson since I tend to emulate Tom Clancy for many elements of my story.

It simply means you possess a similar vocabulary to whomever you "write like"? Still a win for me and the team!

I think they probably have a pretty short list of authors! We're already seeing some people coming up twice. xD
Fun though. In my head I write like God.
