That's strange. I've never seen fanfiction treated so seriously - even with something of a brand and money attached to it. And even more incredible - apparently a standard of quality. They won't take pornographic stories, ones with a lot of wearing, or bad writing. Well there goes 98% of fanfic authors. Good... I think. Maybe this kind of thing could earn fanfic a hint of respect?
I wonder - will people *pay* for something they can get at FF.net for free? And the article - that's a bit worrying too. If I create a really really good story, the IP owner can go ahead and write a sequel or whatever and not owe me a penny. I don't think that kind of thing is likely to happen often and it would *still* be a 'break' in the industry, but still.
At the moment though - I have no plans to write a story abut Gossip Girl or The Vampire Diaries, so no problem! Thanks for this Clint. I'll keep an eye to see what other 'worlds' they include and if the whole thing takes off.

My first thought on reading the article on the BBC was, "Wow, Warner Brothers produces a lot of crappy television shows." Then I realized that something even worse than "50 Shats of Garbage" was probably going to be the result of this little project of Amazon's... and even more popular.
Then I heard Captain Morgan telling me it was time get together with him and Coca Cola for a few rounds. Because a skull-rattling hangover still feels better than trying to read a fanfiction inspired by a terribly written fanfic trilogy, which was based on another trilogy that lacked plot, characters, or even a semblance of an interesting story (all because *that* author had the hots for a guy she walked around a meadow with in her sleep).

Probably because he got them all in there while I was telling Linders we had a new 'member' and Linders was checking to see if ol' what'sisname was real or Spambot. Sneaky little bugger that he is.

Ah. Didn't realize he was that fast. My bad. That's ok, he was a fast little bastard... had I think 11 posts up before Linders shut him down... and all in the course of about 5 minutes. And then Linders' mod tools went wonky and he had to delete the bugger post-by-post, as opposed to being able to "delete all by this member" to wipe out all the spams at once... Poor Linders, he deserves a hug for having to deal with speedy Spambots... *runs off to give Linders a hug* ;D
