Imma gonna necro this thread because it already exists and is relevant to the following. www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/134034-Lucasfilm-Makes-It-Official-Star-Wars-Expanded-Universe-Is-DeadDisney has axed the Star Wars EU. It is no longer considered canon, so all books, comics and games that took place after Return of the Jedi are no longer part of any official canon. The article was vague about the stuff that happened during the original series or around the prequels but the post Return era stuff has been tossed and presumably burned. I was not a fan of the EU stuff, but this is just plain wrong. That's a lot of work tossed into the bin so that they could reboot the thing and bring out some very old actors out for a fricking cameo. Smacks of laziness if you ask me.

No Thrawn. No Darth Cadeus. No Glorious Chewbacca death. No Kyle Katarn. No Jaina Solo. No Ben Skywalker. No Mara Jade. No Yuuzhan-Vong. No Cade Skywalker. No Darth Krayt/Asharad Hett. No Legacy series. ....
I'm really at a loss for words here. I liked the EU stuff. Darkhorse and Christie Golden did amazing work for the the Post Episode VI universe. The characters grew even more after the films and became different people! Han Solo became a General and a family man, Luke into a Yoda of his time, Jaina Solo was the sword of the Jedi and helped shape the New Empire and it's Imperial family (The Fels) which made the Legacy Universe even more appealing. And the villains! Darth Krayt and Thrawn...fucking Thrawn! Look I know these pieces of work still exist and it wont go away or anything but...it's just a shame.

I sense a massive disturbance in the force... ...As if a million Star Wars EU fans cried out in despair, and then silence.

The great thing is, it's still with us. The Star Wars EU will appear as a blue ghost and guide us through the tough times.
In all seriousness, I'm still gonna act like the post-ROTJ Extended Universe stuff exists. Marvel and DC comic books have asstons of different canons, arcs, and timelines, so yeah, why can't Star Wars? The power of imagination amigos.

I'm going to headcannon Jacen's fall so it happened a different way.

That's alright i'm going to headcanon that The Fel Empire from Legacy can trace it's roots to both the Fel's and House Solo/Skywalker. Also is Delta Squad canon or not? They do make an cameo in the Clone Wars series...
