The city is actually under lockdown right now as the whole thing has been pretty violent. They are Chechnyan. Their beef could have been religious (predominantly Islam there) or political (bad blood there going back to the 90s) or a combination. Their origin does not allow for this to be a random act unfortunately. I hope they can get the second one in alive so we can find out what the Hell they are after.
Also, I would like to remind everyone here that we have members who know people from there and are from there so some sensitivity would be appreciated by me and likely them as well.

Ah c'mon mate, people have died.
I don't think there' much to say about this, except that I'm glad they already (probably) identified the killers. There have been some stories of heroism too, which is something. Let's just hope it's over soon.

This is horribly sad... I hate that the people of Boston are being trapped in their homes because these horrible bombers are still on the loose - or at least one of them is - and it sucks that innocent people are being terrorized this way.
And as Buch said - people died. Three people that I know of. A child died, and two other young people who weren't far into adulthood... and that's three deaths too many. Plus the many many injuries...
Also, the heroes who've emerged in this tragedy need to be honored - I wish many blessings upon those who have suffered to help them heal, and upon those who performed heroically to honor them for their actions.

Different parts of the accused's family are taking completely different sides in this mess. I hope we can piece together some stuff after this crap is over with.

While it's out of character for Chechens to attack Americans, the Boston attacks fight the MO that the Russians have been dealing with. Combined with the other evidence (like them killing one cop, wounding another, and then having that shootout), I'd say it's adding up so far.

The fact that they felt they had to rob a convenience store for food and cash means they weren't funded by anybody. And the younger brother driving over the older one... pretty sure that wasn't planned either. I have to say I find an odd sort of poetic justice in that last part. I'm not laughing by any means, but the feeling is there.
Also, the Boston Globe reports that certain family members had a falling out with their father a few years ago (though relatives won't say why). That would explain why different family members have differing opinions, but one thing I have noticed is that the family seems to think the younger kid was always the nicer one. They haven't been saying that about Tamarlan (the older brother).

Yeah, I almost went off about that until I realized that it's probably not how Gorvar meant it. So I took a deep breath and went and did something else.

I think what Gorvar meant was that it's all so unbelievable that it seems like a plot from a movie... he was not insinuating any amusement or entertainment from it, he was referring to the insanity of it.
