Only one worse I ran across in fiction was Richard Rahl from the Sword of Truth series. Might as well just call that guy superman and get it over with.

Neelix lover, Janeway hugger, friend of Jonathan Archer! Let's see.... I tolerate Neelix because he's pretty useful (more so than Wesley or Nog), Janeway is the #2 Captain of all time (and if the funds work out, I'll get a chance to meet Kate Mulgrew at a convention in the fall), and I only pretend to be a friend to Archer so I can make a run for T'Pol.

Neelix is a laying asshole that nearly end sup people killed ( sometimes they do get killed), Janeway is a evil dictator and T'pol...yeah i would go for T'pol to.
Real talk? I hope you get to meet her, I like Kate Mulgrew as a actress and I loved her in Dragon Age.

Kate Mulgrew is pretty awesome. I couldn't stand nearly all of the cast of DS 9. That show was doing pretty bad at first when you consider that they moved no fewer than 2 cast members from Next Gen to it. Though really who gave 2 shits about Chief O'Brian.
As for character analysis. Nog and Jake were 1 dimensional idiots that were brought in to have child sidekicks to rope in the younger audience. Nog had a bit a character arc, Jake was a pissant and both were useless.
Neelix was a conniving, lying asshole whom I hated at first. His intentions were purely selfish and he was using Voyager and it's crew to get what he wanted at first. then he wised up, invested himself in the needs of the crew and used his superior local knowledge and scrounging ability to keep them flying. It could very easily be argued that they would have had no chance without him. Voyager was never intended to be a deep space long term flyer. It was not self sufficient and every scrap of energy saved helped.
What I am saying is that he had something that Nog and Jake didn't. A character arc.
Janeway did something at the very beginning that was questionable. She destroyed the array that could have gotten them home. What was the alternative? Leave it there for the locals (whose name escapes me and I care not to look up) that were less than savory to get a hold of it and turn the balance of power upside down in that whole quadrant. The severe inconvenience of her crew was worth that action unless you think giving nukes to cavemen is smart. And yes, she was a bit of a dictator. The combination of her rank on a military ship and their situation required that she be a hardass. She did the best she could in her situation and frankly I can't imagine it being handled much better. She asked for and often took the advice of her staff and eventually got over her hangups (some of which were valid) about the Mauki and accepted them as full crew members. Going so far as to go to bat for these (criminals) people when they got back. I see no problem here.

I like Neelix. he had a character ark, he was a thousand times more interesting and likeable than Nog and Jake, or Quark for that matter, and he was handsome.

Of course your twisted, demented English tastes speak for themselves. Quark has an arc, so does Nog ( agreed with Jake). Neelix nearly gets the Voyager crew killed on a daily basis, why do you think post Season 2 he barely has anything important to do and why Kes dumps his worthless ass.

I'm really beginning to think you watched some kind of wacky Belgium only version of the show. His role in the ship was larger not smaller after season 2 and Kes "dumped him" because she became some kind of magic woman that was no longer safe to have on the ship if I recall correctly.
BTW, for a series that was ostensibly not religion or mystic based there was far too much magic and too many god figures in it.

Quark has an arc. Rhymes. xD This is why I like you, Buch. Agreed with Kes, i dont even know what the hell happend to her. But hey we got Seven out of it, i can dig it. Also Neelix was acting quite jealious when Kes and Tom were just being friends and tried several times to hurt the latter and end up making things worse. I just dont like Neelix, period. also had sex with a klingon woman to....lucky bastard.
