InXile Entertainment (the guys who made Planescape: Torment) launched a Kickstarter campaing for Torment's successor, which will be an RPG game in the same vein, although not in the Planescape setting. It was funded in something like 6 hours. If that's not exciting news, I don't know what is!

This is looking like a *great* project, especially with the way Wasteland 2 is turning out so far. It seems like these guys are bending over backwards to make sure the fans are happy with these sequels.
I also love this part: "And continuing the Torment tradition, we'll make most if not all combat avoidable." =D
If anyone is interested, this is also a good chance to back this game in addition to getting a copy of Wasteland 2, which is being co-written/co-designed by Chris Avellone (PS:T, KotOR II, Alpha Protocol, Fallout: New Vegas + DLC).

If Avellone is writing, I'll pretty much put money down for Tides of Numa Numa on the spot.

I've already backed Wasteland 2. I'm loving these Kickstarters. They give me hope that we can have some seriously well-made games in the next couple of years.

Got a couple updates this week!
If Torment reaches the 3.25 million dollar stretch goal, then Patrick Rothfuss will join the writing team. Which is cool, but at 3.5 million, Chris Avellone[/b] will join the design team.

Avellone is confirmed! Now it's a spiritual successor to PT.
I ended up increasing my pledge a bit just to make sure it got to 3.5 million.

Did you see those screenshots? I'm sure things will change/improve along the way, but it's extremely promising.

It's funded! They gathered a whooping $4,188,927 on Kickstarter alone - I don't know how much via Paypal. Together with Project Eternity and Wasteland 2, this looks like the most promising upcoming game in the near future.
