It's more a character piece, one last hurrah and all that. Also it's shore leave so the Reaper storyline takes a bit seat and the drama makes palce for some humour.

Hmm. The more I mull over it (and after watching my partner's playthrough) the more it bothers me. It DEFINITELY doesn't fit. I hadn't touched ME3 for several months before playing the Citadel. Imagining myself playing the game from the start, getting immersed again in it as I was, there's no way I could swallow the amount of slapstick comedy material crammed into this DLC.

Well now I'm losing my enthusiasm again... there's more than enough comedy in that game already.

They really did a great job tying up loose ends though. A good bye to and from thane was definitely well done.

See... Thane's existing goodbye is magnificent. My worry is that giving him a second one, after his death, can only spoil it.
Am I just being overly negative? I should just play it and find out.

It;s the last time you see these people, and the last time the writers can write them. Of course they are going all out.

Maybe, but a bad writer goes all out. A good one restrains herself.
It's a third-act chapter of a story about a person directing the front lines of a war and making impossible decisions, not a Whose Line is it Anyway reunion special.....
But I haven't played it so God I need to shut up. I'm very concerned, you know?

I want 2200 Microsoft points, a gigabyte of disc space, and an empty week!
All three of those things seem very far away for me at the moment. xD

Uh, what can I say? It's really up to you, I guess. I cannot whole-heartedly recommend it, but I cannot lightly say it's not worth it, either. A lot of work went into this DLC. (Can't help with the points or disk space, but it will only really take some 6-8 hours to wrap it all up, no more than that.)
I think it's meant to be played independently of the main game. It's... it really is like fanfiction, in a sense. But if the comedy elements trouble you, yeah, be warned. There's a very marked lack of seriousness throughout this DLC. I can see why a lot of people loved it, and I did laugh at it too on my first run, but watching it again it felt very contrived.

I guess it's not worth to reinstall everything back into my PC right now from the sounds of it. I'm quite sensitive to my immersion, due to the years of nitpicking from the days in my games course. Can't be helped, cause it's a prerequisite for a game developer, when it comes to digging out the bugs and warts in the game.
Still, I'll give them some kudos for the effort. I might play ME3 again with the DLC someday in the future where I don't have to deal with Origin or something. By then my PC should run like a power horse again.

Has anyone else discovered the "hidden" conversations with Wrex and Joker?

The Xbox version is two separate 2GB downloads? Bloody hell, Bioware. Mass Effect 3 already has 4GB of my 20GB hard drive, and that's not including the multiplayer expansions I had to delete already! Now I need to double that? All right, I guess I'm off to delete even more of the classic games I saved for over the years.... or maybe Dragon Age or something. Bioware seems to possess almost all of my hard drive at this point.
I could get a bigger drive and transfer cable, but I'd feel insulted. Exactly how much money must I spend to see the entire story of the game I paid £50 for a year ago? Games are just beyond me nowadays.
UPDATE: I had to lose Shale and the Warden's Keep, the original Mortal Kombat trilogy, Ms Pac Man, Limbo, Braid and most of my indie games. I hope you're worth it, extra Kaidan romantic dialogue...
