Clearly the other kid had Fairy God parents.

Saw the trans fat thing. That case is going to bounce out of court so hard...
As for the boy, the latest report I saw said the cops were sticking to their guns, saying it was correct procedure with a juvenile suspect. I'm hoping something more is released so it makes more sense soon.

Detained for nearly 5 hours by the police reckoning. I just can't wait to see how this one goes. And of course a 7 year old is going to be cognitive of his rights. I know they have to stick to the official line, but you can just bet that NY's legal team is shitting bricks right now.

Oh, how I long for the days when it was an accepted practice for the bully's victim to turn the tables and beat that bully's ass and leave it at that.

Well the NY public advocate(something similar to which I would love to see here) really slammed down on the NYPD on this. While the claims were exaggerated, excessive force was used. I don't even think it's possible to charge someone that young, he should have been taken to his parents and the parents should have been given a talking to about his conduct. Christ, that's what was done when I was that age.
What weirdness is this world coming to?

Small wonder that people are leaving those areas faster than new people are coming in.

Meh!
There is just enough spirited debate in here I would rather leave it here.
For the less contentious stuff I have no problem with a new topic being opened in General chat.
OT, this is far from the first time that this has happened. In every case that it has where it was not negligence on the part of the parent there was a perfectly rational reason for not knowing about the pregnancy. In this case, she thought she was having muscle spasms as a result of an infection and surgery she had years earlier that she thought had left her infertile. Seems legit to me.

Agreed with the Linders. I;m actually happy for her and her family.

Reading the story, it seems legit. Someone who thought she was infertile and had other issues that have symptoms similar to pregnancy isn't unheard of.
Sidebar: that happened in my hometown.

You know.... this thread is massively off-topic! It was supposed to be about silly weird stuff we found online.

That ended with the massive gay rights blowup that happened about 6 pages back, yet at the same time I really don't feel like breaking it up or locking it. I suppose I could... but the original point of the thread kinda mutated into ridiculous things on the internet that piss **** off.
