I might as well put them all together here! These are all from August onwards. Two illustrations for Zeitgeist #5, Cauldron Born: 'King Aodhan and "Minister of Outsiders" Lya Jierre -- warily raise wine glasses to each other.' These were existing characters - the king's appearance is loosely based on the actor Clark Peters, and Lya is based on Carrie Fisher. A 300-ft. tall metal construct is being built in an underground shaft. Then, the cover for the autumn issue for The Colored Lens: And my big one for 2012, the cover for an upcoming sci-fi/space opera anthology, featuring stories with women protagonists - The Other Half of the Sky: Well, that's the most important ones, I guess!

Nice work, I like the lighting and colour effects on your works.
Also a female protagonist for a Space Opera epic sounds good. It Need more prominent female characters in the sci-fi genres, honestly.

Unbelievable, chief. I especially like the cover for The Colored Lens. And like Tillian said - your lighting is fantastic.

Beautiful work! The cover for the sci-fi anthology is probably my favorite - and also probably something I'll end up buying. =D

Holy shit Lieden....this is awesome! I like "The other half in the sky" one the most. I love her expression, the stars in the skies, and the semi-Markers from Dead Space in the background.

Very nice work as always Lieden.
Nothing I could do or even critique. I can't even draw sticks after all.

Thanks a lot, you guys! The Other Half of the Sky will be out this April; I've read about half or more of the stories, and they're very intriguing. And yeah, Till, I hear you about needing more female protagonists in sci-fi. As for the cover, the whole point was to portray a female character who is not just eye-candy, but invites you to regard her as a person and be curious about her. I'm glad I've contributed a cover that deviates from the ol' trope of the sexy heroine with a broken/contorted spine.

It's about damn time there was a female protagonist in SF who wasn't there to look pretty. I'd say Ripley in Alien, but then I remember she spent the third act running around in her underwear for some reason.

One of the endorsers for the anthology put it very aptly: That was VERY heart-warming to read.
