Mock Effect 3.10.docx (23.26 KB) Here's chapter 10. I'll do the deal I did with Gorvar last time. Review for a review! Please validate my poor mini-ego!

I read! Mordin's last appearance is so special to me, I had to see this one. Very nice! It gets me every time too. And that was a very nice way to handle everything too. Yakedy Sax is what it would ave taken to spoil it all right. And the 'hole in the road' bit is a very good point. Also chuckled a lot at 'hammer time' - happy to see the spirit and high-class wit of the original lives on. The chapter title puns remain a favourite aspect for me.

Glad you think I gave him a good send off. Wanted to make sure I kept the jocular tone of the overall piece while still highlighting Mordin's sacrifice. Now to do Thane, which might be harder since he sacrificed himself for nothing.

He died to save the Salarian councilor's life. I mean all right it's the Salarian councilor, but it's still a life!

Well, no. The Councilor was in the clear and he and 3 other crack shots had a bead on Kai Leng, but Thane decided to go for a close quarters battle instead. All he would have had to do was duck.

We all know Kai Leng is immune to gunfire for some reason (to be fair he probably has both regular and biotic shields ready to go) In Leng's final boss fight it takes many, many bullets / grenades / top-level biotic attacks / turian-class sniper rifle shots in the face at point blank range to even slow him down - so the same three people with pistols aimed at him in a room is no guarantee of success. Thane figured that tackling him with fist and foot, being as he's the only person with comparable martial arts skills, was the only way to if not knock him down then get him to stay still for a few seconds, keep him occupied and get the councilor away.
I might be making excuses but it's not black OR white. He was slowing down the bad guy with invincible Spider-man powers using his unique set of skills!
I will admit though that the way Thane loses the fight is VERY bad choreography. It's like, "Thane, why did you.... I mean what were you hoping to achieve with that last move?!" I could have taken advantage of that flaw, let alone Captain Saturday Morning Robo-Ninja Man.
To me if it IS a plot hole (and I admit there are a lot of them in ME3, mostly concerning EDI!) then just one of those things I happily ignore, like how Princess Leia apparently willfully brings the Death Star to the rebel base in Star Wars.

Laughed a lot at the ending - I love the little bits where you stop and go, "Oh yeah - where the hell DID he go and we're not chasing him anymore..." and "Yeah they do only have two rooms!" Those are what I like best in parody - the bit you think of next time you see the original and you can't look at the hospital in the same way again.
