I am so very very excited, I can hardly contan myself! Ken Follett's amazing novel "World Without End" is coming to TV soon as a mini-series!! This is the sequel to the novel / TV mini-series "Pillars of the Earth", and I have been waiting anxiously for this since I first read the book - even before I knew they were turning the books into TV series, I have wanted to see them as a visual media - either as a show or a movie. This is a wonderful discovery for me to have made today, it makes my current health issues seem less painful in my excitement over this impending amazing TV Show... Has anyone else read these awesome novels? I'd love to be able to discuss them with other fans...

I've read them. Liked the First book a lot, the second was OK (Female heroine is attributed with modern characteristics in a way common to modern authors.) Didn't like the TV series of the first one because of it's rather sharp abridgment of the original.

I agree with you there about the abridgement being a bit disquieting, Clint, but even with that - it was still very well acted, and well done, if a bit cut down with a few of the sub-plots I really liked being removed.
I read up a bit on the website for the adaptation of "World Without End", and a few details seem to have been changed in a way that I'm not sure I like, regarding Caris and Gwenda and their families, and the relationship between Ralph and Merthin, and who their family is... not sure what else has been changed, but there are some amazing actors in "World Without End" and I am looking forward to seeing their interpretations of the characters...
