Well, it is official - I do have the world's most awesome boyfriend... Not to be all mushy or anything, but he just bought Mass Effect 1 and Mass Effect 2 for me to download on my very own computer so I can play whenever I want, without having to use his computer! *does a happy dance while waiting for the downloads to download* May all the gods bless you, Oh Awesome One! (Ok, maybe a little mushy... ) You are a well kept woman my dear. I am, indeed. I consider myself very very lucky - again, not to sound too obsessive, but he does treat me far better than I ever had any right to think I deserved. Or maybe he just wanted ME3 back without me monopolizing his computer for ME1... And now, on to start playing ME1 some more! Or possibly read more Mock Effect 2 - haven't decided yet...

That's a tough one... but I'm biased.

Well, I can officially say I do not like Saren. Aside from the knowledge of what an arse he is from reading Mock Effect 1, and the obvious betrayal of him killing Nihlus in the first mission, his smarmy attitude and slimy manipulation of the Council at the Citadel actually made me hiss at the computer screen! *growls and reflexively clenches her fists around an imaginary Saren's neck* Ok. *deep breath* I'm ok now. I just really despise two-facedness... *humming under her breath as she fantasizes about killing Saren*

He's kind of a turd, I will admit that. However, I'm sure there's one character you'll dislike even more, if you haven't already met them. Say what you want about Saren, at least he has some measure of respect for Shepard and a sexy refined voice. It's a real shame you've already read Mock Effect, though. That's a lot of cool story twists already spoiled for you.

In my personal opinion, Saren is probably one of the best villian out of the trilogy. He maybe be a relentless bastard, but he had motives for his actions and his villianous charactrer wasn't that two diamentional. (ie: Racist to humans, but comes to respect Shepard for her abilities and sharing the same goal.) Also it's kind of a bit of a joy to fight him, since it felt nautral and not forced in a plot armour kinda of a way (I'm looking at you Kai Leng!). And as Glow said, he had a really cool voice to top it up. Now, Kai Leng. Now there's a villianous asshole you want to hiss at. I've certainly had a hard time to contain myself from throwing tea into the screen. One diamentional, irritating and an asshole in terms of pettiness (See his insulting e-mail after that mission on Thessia...). The worse part that he's protected by plot armour. Not only blantantly, but he loves to show it off and brag about it. ("Nah nah nah! I have plot and and you can't do anything to me. Nah nah nah naaah!) Hence I hate Kai Leng more as a villian... to the point I miss Saren.

Clint, Gorvar - believe it or not, I nearly wrote that with a capital H. Figures; that battle is probably the hardest in all three games? D: Hey - Saren was a smart son of a bitch. Surely not likeable, for which I partly blame the script and voice acting. But you've got to have a measure of respect for his tactics. I am not so confident regarding Kai Leng's IQ. Easily one of the most exasperating villains I've come across in a game in years.

I liked Saren as a villain. It was only a shame we didnt see more of him. Kai Leng...i sort of liked him BECAUSE he was a troll.

Mm, that may be, but sometimes it's the 'sexy refined voice' that makes a person so detestable - the usage of said fine voice to verbally abuse people and manipulate situations to their own ends (Professor Snape / Alan Rickman, I am so looking at you! You were a detestable SOB for most of the series, but damn if you didn't sound sexy while being all detestable!!) Now, I don't mind spoilers, but I have to admit - I am curious now about that guy you sent the image of - I asked JKLinders who he is (as I do not mind spoilers) and all he said was "Just go ahead and talk to him as a Female Shepard and see what happens...". Challenge accepted! *goes to play ME1*

Kai-Leng seems particularly out of place and silly too me, especially regarding his gleeful racial stereotyping: "I'm Asian, right? Well I'd better get a ponytail and a katana!" It would be the equivalent of a Scottish henchman who lunged at Shepard with a particularly-overcooked haggis concealed in his kilt.
But his trolling is actually pretty engaging, I admit too! As 'pure evil' baddies go, he's not bad. He's a lot of fun.
