I suppose some games can't be considered perfect. Guess we had no choice but to wait and see that BioWare promises us in April. In the meantime, hold the line! Hold the line!

This has been popping up on the BSN forums, but it's semi-widespread now. This could all be 100% fake (and probably is), but a guy claiming to have previously worked for BioWare released a segment from a document that was supposedly the company's outline for how the Mass Effect series is going to progress. It details what happens after the ending, what the new DLC is going to involve, and the basic, basic premise for Mass Effect 4, which is titled "Mass Shift" in the outline. i39.tinypic.com/1gnlw2.jpg

Given how ridiculous it looks and how there is nothing to corroborate it at all, I call shenanigans.
The amount of drugs needed to come up with such a convoluted piece of BS is incomprehensible.

We didnt believe the previous leaks.... But we should have as there was video to support it and editions released early via weather balloons. This is just a really poorly written text doc copied from a cocktail napkin.

I don't really believe this. I don't know much about game development, but as bad as Dragon Age II was, there's no way it was released before it even reached the alpha stage, right?

"Ah yes. Mass Shift. A spiritual successor to the Mass Effect trilogy, where Shepard is alive and shoot lasers from her eyes. We have dismiss that claim!"
Seriously, I feel inclined to call this bullshit. I'm a going graduate as Game Developer this year, so I can confirm it's bullshit about 80%. The 20% lies in how unpredictable BioWare can be, especially after the infamous ending.
Firstly. Before Alpha Stage? While I'm trying to remember what game looks like in the alpha stage, last I've check in DA2, everything seemed to be running in an acceptable working condition. I have yet run into crashes and bugs in game and despite the rush crappy presentation, it's still passable as a commercial product. Besides, no software or game can run in a stablised condition in alpha stage, let alone pre-alpha, since the test in the pre-alpha stage usually focus on getting the assets, code, etc running smoothly individually, along running the game for 24 hrs constantly to see if it can last for long periods of time. If the said game did release in pre-alpha stage, we would be complaining how the game is unworkable by now, instead of complaining about crappy the game is.
Secondly, while it's possible that "ME4" can be started at this time in pre-production stage, I have noticed a few things that could be flag as fake. First off, he could have taken a picture with his digital camera in secret about the "storyboards" as proof with the DLC bridge.
Also virtual lighting technician? I know BioWare has a big production team, but isn't usually the level designer's job to add lighting to the level? I haven't heard that job description in game development.
About Katsumi. I'm pretty sure that she was based on an asian model, not someone else's sister. When I mean model, I mean the supermodel types.
I think I got more, but this what I've analyse so far in brief. I'll add more to it later. Bottomline, I take a bucket of sea salt about this leak.
And Mass Shift... what a shitty name. I'm sure BioWare can think up something better than that.

If the title turns out to be legit, I got dibs on the coinage of the alternative title epitet "Ass Shit".
Though knowing 4chan and Something Awful they probably already called it.

Mass Shift does sound like some sort of weight-loss program.

Indeed it does.
If by bad chance it turns out to be true... well I'm done with BioWare. I'm too tired with this rollercoaster mess.
