I guess the reason kind of slipped my mind but why do all the firearms in the Mass Effect games have two barrels?
Are the bottom barrels for alternate ammunition? Or does it have something to do with the heating/cooling?

Or does it have something to do with the heating/cooling? I know this! I believe one of the developers said that at one point, some powers and ammo types and stuff were supposed to come out of the second barrel. It got scrapped in development, but they kept the look for some reason.

Mr. Glow answered it, but I always assumed the 2nd barrel was a grenade launcher or something.

Twinkies.
In the bottom barrel.
Twinkies. For if they get hungry.

There should be a series of Mass Effect Mintos commercials.
