After hyping my like for Firefly to my brother and his wife for weeks, they finally agreed to watch the pilot episode. Yeah, they didn't like it... buggered out right in the middle of it. Yeah, I've failed. Part of me tells me I should have started on 'The Train Job' rather than the pilot episode, because the pilot episode was easily the worst of the lot. Edit: I swore I thought I put this in the Film/TV section. Must be getting tired.

As someone who liked the show then Went Off it, I can obviously see why people might not like it so much.
It is kind of cheesy/hokey sometimes, and the pilot does drag on a fair bit (it tried to do a bit too much if you ask me).

It's kinda sad, because "The Train Job" is a much better series starter than the pilot episodes, but the pilot is where everyone and everything is introduced. It doesn't have as much of the good humor as the later episodes either.
Maybe try again with the movie? That's where I started (though I wouldn't recommend it unless absolutely necessary).

I loved the pilot and the episodes after it. Serenity was a good film to shut off the last storylines left hanging from...the assholes who cut this show short.

Good Show. Pity he failed with Dollhouse too.

Dollhouse was weird. This coming from someone who's seen every episode of Angel.

There's only so much you can do with a Whorehouse as the base of operations for your storyline. I get it , heart of gold, Joss. Still not interested.

He's making the Avengers movie though, that's AWESOME. Seriously i read his run on the Astonishing X-men, and it was AWESOME. Complete faith.
