Okay before I read:
Is this a reboot of sorts? A part of an anthology?
Sorry, kinda confused at the moment.

You remember how I said in the Review Thread of Commander Shepard's Log: 2185 -- that parts 1 threw 7 were based on my second play through of Mass Effect 2? I decided to finally tell the story of my 1st Play-through of ME 2.And I felt that it deserves its own thread.Instead of just being attached to Commander Shepard's Log: 2185. This way. There will be less confusion. At least that was my intent. But seeing as how you were a bit confused by it Cali... Maybe I should put an Authors Notes in it as well.

I'm just gonna say this: the Commander Shepard in these stories doesn't really seem like a seasoned marine in the 22nd century.
I'm not sure he would be dropping all these emoticons in his log, Or going on about how sexy the women in his crew are to such a degree. Or making repeated references to 20th-21st century (James Bond, Sinead O'Connor. World War 2 and the Axis gets a free pass from me for being pretty much one of the most important events in the 20th century, though.)

Or making repeated references to 20th-21st century (James Bond, Sinead O'Connor. World War 2 and the Axis gets a free pass from me for being pretty much one of the most important events in the 20th century, though.) Concerning the "emoticons" -- You see -- when I'm writing this. I envision Commander John Shepard sitting at his desk. Not all that different from Will Smith's character Robert Neville in I Am Legend. And the video logs of Miranda Lawson that we got to see on the Lazarus Station... Since this is all just text here on this site. You can't see him crack a smile or blush when he thinks about his love interest. And while "MY" Commander Shepard "runs the Normandy SR-2 military." In the Terminus Systems. He's not really an Alliance Marine or a Spectre. He's a Space Cowboy... My Shepard is not sexually harassing his female crew-mates LOL... If you look at what I wrote -- most of the time they are the ones who make the first move. When I was playing ME 2 for the first time.I felt like the female potential love interest weren't even waiting for the paint to dry on my "in limbo relationship status" with Operations Chief Ashley Williams. That woman hurt me on Horizon. And only Kelly and Joker ask me how I'm doing.(If you don't play the LOTSB DLC) Everyone else just wants to get into Shepard's pants... Concerning all the references to the 20th and 21st Century. The 20th Century could arguably be called the most important single century in all of recorded human history. It stands to reason that many would look into what made it so goddamn special? Why did that single century possess such people of talent and achievement? I mean if you think for a moment of the caliber of world changing figures who lived then and now.It is remarkable. From science to politics, the arts and business. The phenomenon of the cult of personality, fame and fortune etc... I'm a history buff and so is my Shepard. His fascination with the 20th Century is akin to Lieutenant Lenina Huxley: Sandra Bullocks character from Demolition Man.I love that character and S.B. was well cast as her.
