Eh, I don't really see how some throw away posts like this is taking the game too serious. If I said the same frothing angry, maybe, or if I came up with hundred pages sociological analysis of Alliance society maybe, but you seem to exaggerate a wee bit maybe how serious I take it, clint. I mean, "General Opinion: There will be artificial uteri in the future" and "Fact: There are no artificial uteri in ME", well it doesn't take much thought to combine them, heh, to "Just why are there no artificial uteri in ME". *shrugs*. EIther post was surely way less than 5 minutes.

My wall o' text rant about DA 2 in the feedback thread over at Bioware could have been taking things a morsel seriously. Though in my defense they were asking for opinions.
But this...not so much.

Eh, maybe it's me taking things the wrong way. No offense meant.

Same goes for Grunt and his predecessors.

It bothers me that Miranda's sister looks nothing like her and appears older.

Grunt is krogan. And we don't know how the Lawson sisters were conceived and born. OTOH, Miranda's benign uterus tumour is treated as reason she can never have children. And generally all references to recreation are about in-utero pregnancies. Even though the technology should be the there for ex-utero pregnancies - as you said it already is for other species, see Grunt.

Miranda flat-out said that all her genetic material comes from her father. Per the Mass Effect Wiki "Miranda never had a mother, only a father who is extremely influential, wealthy, and ego-maniacal. Using a modified copy of his own genome, Miranda was genetically engineered to be a specimen of human perfection." Since she has no genetic "mother", that would imply extra-utero development and "birth". Also, in the ME universe, a corpse can be resurrected given proper time and resources which I would imagine isn't too far removed from creating a baby in a proverbial test tube.

Just playing devils advocate here but we are using surrogate mothers right now for people who cannot carry a baby to term for whatever reason. There is absolutely nothing saying the same was not done with Miranda. Though it is likely that "daddy" shelled out extra bucks for whatever extra utero option was available.
I suspect such stuff exists but is prohibitively expensive for most. There is no evidence that I can see of universal health care in the ME universe.

That's because medi-gel pretty much falls from the skies in the ME universe. xD

Well, in that case the statement that Miranda can't have children is even more odd, wouldn't you say? As are the references to pregnancies in general...

Well, in that case the statement that Miranda can't have children is even more odd, wouldn't you say? As are the references to pregnancies in general... According to the Wiki, her genetic enhancements are what rendered her infertile. Also, her father was heavily involved with the higher levels of Cerberus' leadership so I can see him having access to tech that most wouldn't have. Even if the tech was widespread, it's likely an expensive process and would be out of the reach of most people.
