Wow. He has a particular set of skills... but comedy isn't one of them.

I don't suppose anyone else is watching the new series of Sherlock? Well, I am, and I'm enjoying it, and Martin Freeman is a good actor, so there.

The first episode of this season was awesome. The second, not so much.

I don't get the hate Baskerville is getting. Besides The Great Game, it was probably my favourite episode so far! I'll admit the "Mind Palace" bit was pretty lame, though. (How can Sherlock "remember everything" with that when he said his brain was like a hard drive with limited space, too? Disturbingly, both of those were written by the same writer.)
I did like the first episode a lot, too, though. Apart from how they handled the previous series' cliffhanger...

Yeah. That was a bit off. But you weren't expecting it, were you?
Baskerville was awful. It tried too hard to emulate the story and not emulate it at the same time. I love the original, and the "curse of the baskervilles" was so much more creepy and intimidating than "secret gov't base"
And in the story, Holmes stays out of it until the halfway point, letting watson do the legwork, not coming along and getting dosed. I can see why they cut out the escaped prisoner side plot but the whole drama of the thing was "Oh no, Nice Mr. Stapleton is the killer and his sister is actually his wife" Here, it was "that dumbass just ran out into a minefield."

I got the whole series of BSG on Blu-Ray that I have been working through (it was my personal Xmas gift). I feel silly for not having given this series more of a chance during the short period that I did try to watch it when it was showing on Sci Fi. I find I still want to shove Baltar into an airlock. An "instrument of God's will" would be better represented as a live nuke.
I recently watched the documentary "Buck" (about horse trainer Buck Brannaman). I consider him my mentor and always learn something new from him. If it weren't for him, at least two of the mustangs I have here would probably still be wild lawn mowers at best. It's a good film to watch if you want to see a real cowboy work, but those who don't care about horses will want to see something else.

I hated Baltar. He's 70% of why I gave up on the show.

Regarding 'Sherlock': You are all buffoons.
The 'Buck' business strangely catches my eye though!

Ah, that makes sense. Apart from the first half of A Study in Scarlet, I haven't read any of the original stories yet. That probably has a lot to do with why I liked it and you didn't. The stuff about Sherlock experiencing fear/doubt for the first time and locking John in a room with "the hound" was great, though, you have to admit that. Anyway, it's Moriarty again tomorrow night, so that's something to look forward to. Regarding 'Sherlock': You are all buffoons. Honestly, what don't you like about Sherlock? I think you might be the first person I've talked to who doesn't love it! It's funny, clever and Benedict Cumberbatch gives a great performance every week. I know you don't like Martin Freeman (even though he's wonderful as Watson), but come on, it's probably the best thing on British television right now!
