I'm not for hating Anders the character just because there's a real terrorist with the same name. That seems a little too much like blurring the lines between fiction and reality. Besides, there are untold reams of reasons to hate Anders in the game itself.
You have to wonder, though. Dragon Age 3, will they continue the plot about Anders' terrorist attack? It could come off as very insensitive (I could see FOX latching onto it without realising Anders had been created before anyone had ever hear of Breivik.), especially if the window between the release of Dragon Ages 2 and 3 is as slight as the gap between Dragon Age: Origins and Dragon Age 2.

True, but I already "dislike" him way before that event. He just kinda rubs me the wrong way in general, like the list you mention and add one other factor that he's not written that well imo. I mean if I've only played DA2 and haven't touched DA:A, this is how I see him: a guy who had an axe to grind with the tamplars and imo, naive idiot. I don't think Gaider was intentionally making a stupid wide-eye idealist, which is sad because I would love Anders go into nasty pieces for freeing the mages from their chains... when there are other reasons why they are chained in the first place (Tenvinter Imperium anyone?). You know potential drama and a good chance to redeem his character on a good day, but I highly doubt it.
But back to the topic. Again, he's just this shallow guy who always threw a hissy fit every time someone disagrees at the slightest concerns about mages going out at night and doing collage frat stuff, let alone being chained up in some cage. Like a teenager who did stupid things just to bring the message and be rebelious... like blowing up the Chantry.
Whoops.

Cassandra Pentaghast from Dragon Age 2I just honestly hate her so much. Like Anders, she's one of the characters in this game that I would feel comfortable in describing as a Mary Sue. According to the DA Wiki, she's a member of some royal family, but also a member of the Seekers (because BioWare decided the Wardens weren't close enough to the Spectres from Mass Effect.) Her voice actress is annoying (seriously, she sounds like she can barely speak English, she has a tendency to slur her words and pronounces other words too loudly). Hell, she even had white hair at one point in development. It doesn't help that she has "Dragon Age 3 party member" written all over her, either. Oh, and she's going to be the main character in a Dragon Age animé. Joy.

I didn't... particularly... hate Cassandra. Wouldn't mind seeing what Bioware have in mind for her.
But seriously - Thedas seems to have a LOT of these angry, bitchy, tough-as-nails lead female party members.

She's getting an anime by the way, so chances are we'll hear more of her voice over work.

That trailer seems to be really testing the boundaries of what you would call 'animation'.

I'm struggling to understand in what way any Dragon Age game is "groundbreaking". Origins was good because it harkened back to old school RPGs, and Dragon Age 2 was Mass Effect 2.
