Gorvar, did you read the Game Informer piece on how to save everybody?
I cut it out and saved it along with my list of destinations.

Well my problem is always with my paragon score not being high enough to tell Miranda or Jack to get over themselves and be friends again. To be honest I prefer Miranda died then Jack, but if i want that save file I need to lose Thane as well. Why is it human females always piss me off?! .....in games that is...and real life.
I'll give that article a look and see where i went wrong. Think it has something to do with being Earthborn as well?

Nope. Nothing to do with that.

Eh? Why would Shepard's pre-military background have anything to do with that?
People in GENERAL piss ME off... but that is another story...

Well Earthborn gives doubles Renegade scores doesn't it? So doesn't it slow down Paragon scores that way?

Nope. Paragon scores are only based on points given having completed missions in a paragon fashion. Origin has nothing to do with score. In fact they reset all of that at the beginning of ME2, and you got only a minor boost in the score based on if you were strictly one morality in the last game. You just didn't say nice things often enough!

Well Earthborn gives doubles Renegade scores doesn't it? So doesn't it slow down Paragon scores that way? Earthborn impacts renegade score gain in ME 1 only. ME 2 uses a completely different metric altogether. There were a few threads about in the ME forums before the trolls chased me out of there. There is this idiotic level scaling they did with the paragon and renegade in ME 2 where your chnces of passing a paragon or renegade check depended not on you meter per say but on the percentage of points earned for either meter. I don't really know what the tipping point is but I passed all checks having no more than 1/4 renegade and full paragon at end game. For example, let's say that the requirement to pass the catfight check is you must have had 75 % of all points go to either Renegade or Paragon that are available up to that point. That means if you earned 74 out of 100 alignment points to paragon and 26 to renegade you fail. if it was 76 and 24 you pass. Every time you open up a new hub the meter changes and you need to grab more alignment points to keep things level. Basically I'm saying it's all but broken. Do a search in the Bioware fora, I'm certain you'll find a topic that explains this far better than I just did. If you can't get Jack and Di- er I mean Miranda to buddy up, try reloading a save and going full out Paragon (or renegade as appropriate) and then try Jack's Loyalty mission again. They really futzed up the level scaling for the dialogue checks. Hopefully they cleaned up because God knows there was a lot of wailing and gnashing of teeth on this one.
