Since I'm at home today with an uncooperative stomach, I thought I would create the review thread for Quad's new fanfic:
Great stuff, Quad. I love the dual immersion of universes. And mentioning 3 doctors - Awesome.
FYI, it's a bit wordy though. If you were to turn this in as a short story somewhere, you'd need to trim it somewhat. (Simple example: You mention Benezia is an empath several times. One should be enough for the audience to grasp that point, unless the scene is particularly dramatic.)

Huh. I hadn't noticed that. Nothing a little editing can fix. Thanks for the heads up, Clint!

No problem. Be sure to let me know if I screw up in Mock Effect 2 anywhere. Or say anything really. That thread is as dead as well... some very dead thing.

Dead as an Ancient Egyptian tomb?

No, mummies live in those. They have a nasty habit of coming back to life with vengeance on their minds.

By all counts, they're technically dead. Rotting flesh, crumbling skin, all that jazz.
Anywho, I hope that aside from Ten you could have recognized the other two Doctors. Believe it or not, when I posed this fic on fanfiction.net, some people complained that they didn't know who the others were. Even though I've hinted at the "Edwardian gentleman's" penchant for gadgets to be a clear indication it's the Third Doctor, or that the hat-wearing, scarf-wearing chap with the bulging eyes is the Fourth Doctor, some felt I wasn't specific enough.
It felt awkward referring to one Doctor, even in a flashback in one of his many forms, as "Third, Fourth or Tenth." I didn't like the sound of it.
Hell, one asshole even criticized my story for... get this, not being scientifically realistic.

Haha. Dude's probably a troll.
Good story so far, by the way. I don't know much about Dr. Who at all, but I still enjoyed the read. Your prose is quite good.

He was actually series. It was a guy named Agent-G, a fairly popular Spider-Man/X-Men fanfic writer.
He also complained about how I didn't explain or elaborate on certain concepts, despite the fact I was building up to the explanations. I questioned his logic, and he retorted.
"A fanfic chapter can take days, even months, to post, to keep everyone's attention you should put in as much information as possible to make everything make a little sense."
I shit you not.
Edit: Also, thanks, man.

Well, I'm caught up with the story now. I'm not much of a literary type, so if you were looking for a proper review, I'm pretty much the wrong guy. Sorry. It seems pretty well written to me though, and I'm looking forward to seeing where you're going with it.
Loved the references, too. How would there be a Life On Mars without John Simm, though?

Oh crap... I just inadvertently created a paradox...
I was too busy wanting to give a little shout out to my favourite cop show that I forgot the small fact that John Simm played the Master.

I'm a big fan of Life On Mars as well. John Simm was/is a brilliant Master, too, even if the episodes he appeared in were stinkers themselves.

Amen. And if that's any indication of how good an actor he is... well, just look at Life on Mars. Without him, Ashes to Ashes isn't quite as riveting.
