Alright, it's time for that personal discussion on games again except we're heading into craptastic territory where there are moral event horizon moments when it comes to gaming for us.
I recalled from my childhood, my last moments with the Sega Master system 2 whent sour when I've brought Heroes of the lance for 9 buck... Boy I was pissed off back then, never managed to pass the 2nd stage. Crappy graphics where everything is dark that made GoW looked coloful in comparison, controls were responsive as paramatic patient and the story... just wtf. Not even a simple objective plot what-so-ever.
That's what probibly made me decided to move on with the times and get a n64.
Also not just crap games, other things in gaming that made me pissed off at times it made me question about my passion for it.
First off, it's WoW. Although there are good moments but there are terrible moments like my favourite guild got into shambles due to drama and the alienating the aussie members with changes to the raid time slots to the point a lot of us aussies left the guild and moved to an aussie server. didn't helped the guild was known for being a safe haven for aussie gamers at the time. And what's worse that after I've left the guild... I've kinda got unwelcomed by not being allowed to rejoin, so I was left guildless for a long time. Refusing offers from other guilds due to knowing their time slots are not fitted.
Still I've stick around on that server because of my ex until he left me. 2nd downer moment is when in games like WoW, sooner or later you realised online relatsonships have a good chance to fail. I've learnt that the hard way. As a result of that. I've finally left the server and moved to an aussie server since I have no place in that server. It's like being exiled to a place with no friends or anyone you know of on that server.
Thridly in WoW again. Beast Mastery nerfing. The balancing patch that blizz made me feel weak in the bones to point my build is unplayable.
4th, this time in Mass Effect 2 of all things. I love BioWare and I've still have some good faith with them, especially after DA but hearing the news about your love interest is sadens me.
Sorry for my ranting but atm I'm feel quite depressed atm for some reason and these things pop up again.
Anyways, what are crappy moments in gaming you have?

Three words: Star Fox Armada.
It took three people to pull the knife away from my wrist.
Also WoW related, when I finally got my rogue to 70. I was so happy because it was such a terrible experience. I ran around ganking, running AVs for season 1 armor, and I was a badass rogue. A month later, Wrath of the Lich King is released, and I had ten more levels to go. That's when I quit. Came back a few months back to get a deathknight up to 80, but then I quit again recently when school started up. Loved that deathknight though.
And I know what you mean. I had an online relationship fall through a couple years ago. We met in Everquest and broke up in WoW, lol.

As I've said on this site, Fahrenheit is one of my favourite games, because of it's very original gameplay, good voice acting and mostly fun story, but it all goes downhill after the carnival level and provided us with the stupid heroic showdown ever. I mean, i was playing that level in the orphanage, and when i saw the oracle, I thought there would be some sort of awesome looking magic battle. But instead Quantic Dream decided a mix between the matrix and a bitchslap battle was what most players would want.

This isnt really a crappy moment in gaming, more of a crappy moment in my life, but i was playing Battle for Middle-Earth 1 a few years ago, and you could save an ent from some orcs as a side quest, and when you did, Aragorn announced, "The ent would like to fight with us" and I spent over fifteen minutes trying to attack it when the game really meant "the ent would like to fight alongside us" not "the ent would like to fight against us"

When I was playing Knights of the Old Republic, I was ill-prepared for the first fight with Malak after the big twist, and I died like a bitch several times over until, finally I found the right combination of stims and shields to beat him. This took so long, and I was so relieved when I finally got off the Leviathan.
During the little cutscene with your party members, while they are discussing what to do with you, Jolee said something...and then didn't continue on. He just sat there staring at me. I sat there pressing buttons, but nothing happened.
The game froze. After a hard reboot of my Xbox, I died a little inside. =(

Poor Knight! What a massive and wonderful moment for it to freeze!
I have to say there are lots of crushing diappointments toward the end of Fahrenheit / Indigo Prophecy. It just really gives up on its marvellous story, it's as if 'The writers have been sacked' and replaced with llamas.
Also that game had two obligatory stealth segments. These were crappy moments for sure. I will forever have the words 'Don't move or I'll shoot' etched into my inner ear from hearing them so many times that first day I attempted to get through.
I was loving the game so much and absolutely had to see what happenned next- so that meant I absolutely had to finish the frustrating as hell stelth section. And after an hour or so of 'Don't move or I'll shoot!' I genuinely started to crack up. I was loudly vocalising fantasies in which I threatened the game's designers at gunpoint, explaining that they would be shot if they moved.

NWN2 ending... Rocks fall, everyone dies regardless if you're good or bad...
Full stop.

I never played it - that sounds like the worst ending ever. Or maybe it's meant to convey a message about the futility of our life's efforts?

No, it ment that Obsidian Entertainment has the drop the ball with the ending once again like they did with KotOR 2. Romance is pretty shitty too in NWN2, it makes both Kaidan and Liara VERY charismatic in comparison.
Although they make up for their mistakes in the MoTB expansion, it's still keyboard haedbanging fest with the ending. The most stupidest ending ever in my god damn lifetime.

Another crappy Fahrenheit twist. Lucas isn't just fighting an illuminati-style clan of magic wielders, but also Artificial Intelligences that want to kill humanity for no apparent reason. I wouldn't mind if they actually tried to set it up from the start like they did with The Oracle and the Orange clan, but all they did was say that the omnipresent crow was actually a camera.
And the Carla/Lucas romance was one of the least developed in fiction.

I'll say it is. Worst romance ever. I was loving the scene in the subway with the ominous music and the radio... even if the Secret Hobo Society was a bit silly. Then out of NOWHERE Lucas and Carla are having sex. I was surprised to say the least. I thought he was still in love with his ex... they slept together like, the previous day? And it seemed as if they were getting back together.
I didn't even know Carla and Lucas were going out. Then after they're done the screen fades and I hear "I love you, Lucas..." I threw the controller down and yelled, 'Why?!'

The horrible side of the gaming industry has a name: Its name is Robert Kotick Wow... what a fucken R-Tard. I'm so fucking glad that EA managed to get a hold of Brutal: Legend. As much as I have my beef with EA, nowdays EA is the lesser evil of the games industry in terms for survival and the tide of the curent situation. While I'm still kinda tried to brain bleech my brains at times, when it comes to BioWare and EA going cahoots with each other... I think at this time of the tide, I think it will better be off. Who knows when that mogrel goes all lawsuit and hostile takeovers with smaller developers, in the similar vein with Square-Enix did with Tecmo at the time. Who knows what happens when BioWare didn't take that offer from EA. Would activison decided to send their "regards" with a contract and burly lawyers. Probably, knowing this guy has no ethics from the looks of it. So yeah... From the current situation, that guys is the biggest moral horizon scene in the gaming landscape.
